Jerry did find the capacitor was not giving his tester any reading, so he did replace that after showing me how the old and new one were registering on his meter. He also had information on A.B. May's service agreements and I signed up for their middle tier plan. Jerry did apply this on the spot which brought the price for this visit and the part down considerably. And as I had signed on to the plan, he also checked my furnace over and gave me some useful information on it. He did replace an old drain hose while he was there, which was apparently also covered under my new plan. "as I called The Appliance Shop last Friday, and the receptionist took my information and arranged for a service call on Monday.  She indicated that they would give us a phone call on Monday before the technician arrived and give us enough time to be sure to be present when he arrived.  On Monday I called back and asked if they could come as early as possible, given that we had some activities that would take us away from the house during the day.  She arranged with the technician to make us his second stop for the day, so he was here by 9:30 a.m.  When he arrived he dismantled the dryer and carefully checked all of the switches to make sure they were functional and not responsible for the problem.  The last step was to check the power source, and he determined that the 220 receptacle was faulty and the reason for the problem.  The dryer was fine, the power source unreliable.  I indicated I would change out the receptacle on my own.  The bill for the analysis was $53.26, a very reasonable price for exactly the information I needed.  I changed out the receptacle and the dryer is back in business. Jeremy was professional and very capable.  I was completely impressed with the punctuality and performance of the technician and the company. "We bought a house recently and I wanted a gas cook top. The week they were supposed to do the work, they called and asked to reschedule because their parts didn't come in. This actually worked out fine because the storm the night before took out a tree limb in the neighboring yard and we were without power for 5 days. When the guy arrived I asked him if he could do 2 additional things that had come up since we got power back. I understood that he may not have time if he said no. I was very happy to hear he could do the two extra small jobs. He ran the gas line to the cook top, fixed a leaking valve leading to the washing machine and replaced the connector for the dishwasher so we could get our new dishwasher installed. Unfortunately he couldn't complete the cook top install that day because the old electric one was hard wired in.
