"When we decided to finally upgrade our fence, we scoped out some of the fences in our neighborhood. One of the fences that stood out for its craftsmanship and beauty had a CLM Home Improvements sign on it. I contacted Carlos for a quote and he was responsive, professional, and polite. Carlos listened to our concerns, offered suggestions, and gave us a few options to choose from. We were concerned this process might take a while because we live on a corner and our fence required a permit. In fact, another fence company wouldn't even work with us because our project required a permit. Carlos kept us informed throughout the permit process, which was not as bad as we had anticipated. On installation day, Carlos and his team arrived promptly and removed our old, ugly chain link fence and installed a beautiful 6' wooden privacy fence. We couldn't be more thrilled with it! As far as pricing, CLM's price was the best -- in one case nearly $5K LOWER than what another company quoted us! "We had a wonderful experience with Deck Cetera from start to finish.  My wife and I originally wanted to replace the decking on our 26 foot by 16 foot deck while keeping the existing foundation.  The existing deck was not very old (4 years,) but was built with poor quality wood and didn't survive the Annapolis weather too well.  We contacted a number of companies we researched off of Angie's List and began the meet and greet process.
The biggest issue my wife and I had was that we, like many other homeowners, were rather unsure as to what we wanted.  We knew we needed the decking replaced, but we wanted our yard to look nice and be useable.  I liked the idea of a portion of the deck being screened in and my wife liked the idea of a nice large patio that sits off the deck.
While most the companies we contacted did come speak with us and give us accurate estimates, none gave us as much help and detail as Deck Cetera did.  Jean from Deck Cetera came to our house no less than 4 times and each time she sat with us to discuss options, draw sketches of the yard, estimate cost, and make professional recommendations.  While the other companies we contacted were interested in quoting what we wanted, Jean from Deck Cetera was more interested in ensuring we were happy with our investment and that we were comfortable and happy with our design.
My wife and I must have gone through no less than 10 iterations of our yard design and Jean from Deck Cetera remained patient with us and was sure not to force us into any decisions or to act pushy in any way.  What we decided on was a 3-5 year plan that involved initially replacing the decking and building out the structure of the deck so that it could (in the future) support a screen room, as well a building a nice paver patio off the deck with a sitting wall. 
Deck Cetera had a crew out as soon as we made our decision and the work was done very quickly with no interference to our day-to-day activities.  The workers were extremely professional and the quality of the work is fantastic.  We were very pleased with our end result and will be sure to use them again in the future."

"Great! Mike was so easy to work with and responsive! As they were peeling back the layers of my shower, they kept finding more and more things that were done incorrectly and he walked me through what VIP was going to do to correct it! In the process, he gave me great advice on tile and paint. They worked with my schedule to get it done so I didn't to miss any more work. It turned out great! (tried to upload a photo but it didn't work). At the end of the job, I had them look at the rest of my house ( that was done very poorly why a company who flips houses), and already have more jobs lined up for these guys! HIGHLY recommended and I will personally always be using them! You name it, they can do it!"

"My experience with Earth Friendly Service was a positive one. My husband and I recently purchased a house that needed some TLC. I reached out to EFS and then responded immediately. Within a few days Steve and Phil were out at my house to see what repairs were needed and to give an estimate. They were pleasant and knowledgeable. I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for 6 hours of Handyman Labor for $250.

I have 2 other Angie's List Handyman Big Deal experiences (with other Handyman companies, who were all highly rated on AL), as well as assorted other workers over the years, to compare with my experience today.  The other companies were fine, and I have actually tried to schedule them for other work, but the other companies would either never call back, or else they were just too busy with AL Big Deals.  What's up with that, by the way? You'd think the goal would be to become a regular worker, without having to continually discount their work with Big Deals.

Don DeWitt was by far, and I mean stratosphere far, the absolute best handyman.

It was easy to reach him, and to get on his schedule within the week.  So what if he arrived 20 minutes late . . he gave me and extra hour free to compensate!

The quality of his work was matched by his professionalism: clean work area, no borrowing of my tools -- he had everything including oddball spare parts, worked continually with no breaks for 7 hours!, worked very fast, and was very pleasant and thoughtful.  He came up with smart, inventive solutions whenever parts didn't fit or situations didn't go as expected.  (and that happens with just about any home project, right?)  It was so obvious that he has tremendous experience and skills.

I will absolutely call him for my next to-do list!
