"We really cannot give enough positive feedback about James Walsh and his very competent and pleasant crew! Our concrete front steps were in dire need of a facelift. We decided to add bluestone treads and brick risers. Our first dilemma was that the facade of our home was “used brick” and we weren’t sure how to match it as best as possible. James told us what to look for and sent us to his contact at a local brickyard to be sure we’d be satisfied with our choice. After selecting bricks, he sent us to another place to choose bluestone and pavers. He carefully explained all the choices we had for filling the “field” on the landing, i.e. whether to use thermal bluestone or pavers and the pluses and minuses of each. From there he helped us to change the design of our front walk (previously cement) and design a walkway in the back of our home from our deck to the driveway. James was fairly priced and accessible for questions before the job and as it proceeded. His crew showed up on time each day and worked carefully, neatly, and diligently. The job was completed on time and looked nicer than we could have anticipated. Our neighbors all came over to compliment the work. On top of everything, James has a great sense of humor and is delightful to work with. He is incredibly knowledgeable about his craft. We would not hesitate to recommend him and hire him again. "Willie, from G and R did a great job. I highly recommend him to do any small handy man project. I hired them to do Deck repair as my Two deck wooden stripes were rotten as well as one Step need to be replaced. Excellent job. In addition, he fix my Shed door and lock holding wooden piece. He nailed my Shed roof singles which were damaged by heavy storm. He trimmed two trees branches and put everything on the curb. Willie was responsive and professional. He arrived promptly and gave me very fair estimate versus other two. His crew showed up on time and the work was done as expected in our absence. My Deck looks great and safe to walk. "Phil and his team again came through with an amazing job at my house. Had an issue with my chimney causing a leak in my house. One side was tarred for some reason. Every contractor told me you have to knock it down and re-brick if you want the tar off (the water was actually running behind the tar past the flashing causing the leak). One contractor told me my brick was bad and had to re-brick, another told me i had to repoint and re-tar the brick. Phil and his team not only removed the tar off the chimney but repointed the chimney and repaired the cement on the top where the caps are for the fireplace and heat for an amazing price. I will work with no one other than Armstrong Masonry. Phil will be honest with you and tell you exactly what needs to be done and not bang you over the head.
