"The project went extremely well. I can’t say enough about the professionalism shown by James Walsh and his magnificent crew. I called for an estimate after reading all the glowing reviews on Angie’s List. The fact that my location was in Northern Westchester was not an issue. He was very accommodating. We spoke about what I wanted and the ideas I had and he offered his opinion and sometimes alternative suggestions based on his vast experience. Due to changes in the weather, the start date was delayed, but James kept in touch throughout. On the first day, he and his crew came out to inspect the site and take measurements. They also manually broke up the concrete walkway...with sledge hammers?. For the next three days after that, they were here every morning at 7:30 am. His crew was amazing. They and James all worked together like a well oiled machine..not wasting any time. Their craftsmanship was outstanding! You could see the respect that they had for each other. James was great at finding solutions to potential problems. With the driveway apron, there was an issue with the depth of buried Verizon cables. With no info from 811, Verizon, or the City, I was ready to give up on the project. James was very encouraging saying that they would go very slowly and carefully and make it work somehow. In the end, we had no problem with the installation and it turned out beautifully. In another instance, the stone yard did not have the pavers that I’d chosen for the walkway and James went with me to select a new paver, offering valuable advice about the preferred size and layout suitable for my space. We selected a 3 piece paver set that neither of us had intended and it looks fantastic. He discovered that, because of a height difference, we could not use the same pavers bordered by bluestone on the front door platform. We decided to just go with all bluestone on the platform to maintain a uniform height. After trying to brainstorm other options, James suggested a colored bluestone for the center. I was a little hesitant because I did not want the colors to clash. He reassured me that it was neutral enough to work. I trusted his judgement and it looks wonderful! James is a very trusting person. He asked for no money upfront or throughout the job...no 1/3 now, 1/3 halfway through, 1/3 at the end. With him it was simply he does what you ask him to do, and you pay him when he’s finished. That’s rare these days. There was no additional monies tacked on at the end of the job....even if he paid more for materials than anticipated. The costs were not passed on to the client. The job site was left immaculate. All debris was removed and even some that they didn’t generate! All in all, I would not hesitate to work with James and his crew again. They were very meticulous in every detail. You could see the pride that was taken in what they were doing. James is very lucky. He’s got one of the best crews around. At the end, he and I walked through to inspect each of the areas. James was very patient in answering all my questions and concerns. After that, it was “call me if there are any problems and I will come back and fix it” and they were gone. After having worked with James for a mere 4 days, I’m sure he meant it! You will not regret hiring Rock Solid General Contractors!"

"Alex Jr and his team, including Alex Sr, were terrific. Alex Jr is extremely personable and friendly. He arrived on time for our appointment to discuss a new walkway for our house and came armed with ideas and photos of different paver options to consider and suggestions for what would work best. We chose to keep the S-shaped curve of the prior path, which is trickier to install than a straight walk, but installation went very smoothly and on schedule, and was finished in two days. We couldn't be happier with the result. The walkway is beautiful and a huge upgrade to our home. I would definitely hire Alex Masonry again."

"Facing replacing the shingles on my roof was a new adventure for me. Zack was most helpful in explaining the procedure and followed through on every detail. He is most professional and knowledgeable and the job was performed timely, efficiently and with very minimal inconvenience. The workers were fast and efficient and cleaned up amazingly thorough. The old shingles had to be removed, plywood placed before the new shinlges were installed. It made for a lot of hard work and created a bit of a mess. However my yard, patio and pool area was in perfect condition at the completion of the job. They even crawled under the bushes to gather and remove any fallen material. The support from Zack was professional and timely when questions arose. Only minutes passed before a call or email was returned with answers to my inquiries."

"I can't say enough about Hector and his team. It was a big project involving tearing out an old rotting wooden retaining wall and installing one with interlocking blocks -- a LOT of blocks along a very long stretch, multiple levels, and in a place that machinery could not easily reach. I put it out for multiple bids, and some people just make up (higher) numbers. Hector's bid was very competitive, maybe even the lowest, and he did more work than anyone else was proposing to do. In particular, an additional design element that he proposed (he was the only one I talked to who took the time to find out what I liked and didn't like and made a creative suggestion for something new, rather than just replacing what the old one looked like). And then the team was all super professional and friendly, took the time needed to do the job right and it was a lot of very hard work. We've been getting a lot of compliments on the results. Would hire these guys again in a heartbeat."

"My husband and I contracted Highrize Construction Group (Enea Shira) to remove the old vinyl siding from our house and replace it with White Stucco. We also replaced the roof, facia and gutters. It was a huge job which was a bit intimidating to us as first time homeowners. Enea met with us quite a few times before we booked his company. I called and texted him multiple times throughout the project and he always made himself available and he was on site every day which was a huge comfort. "I hired MV Masonry to repair a block retaining wall. After speaking to Mike he advised me to build a new one. I received a few other quotes first but went with Mike because he truly seemed like the only honest person I spoke to and he didn’t cut any corners. I know the wall is going to hold up. Mike was incredibly responsive and is very knowledgeable about what he’s doing. He doesn’t just try to quickly smack on a finish coat and call it a day like most of these other contractors and call it a day. I highly recommend him. You don’t find people like him anymore!!"

He arrived on the right day and time. I approved the estimate and the work began several days later. He provided a written contract detailing all the work and costs. There were 4-5 workers on the job and it was completed in three days. They were professional and courteous and answered any questions or concerns we had. The price was considered within the range I had researched of $3-6/sq foot. I would recommend this company for any construction project."
