"LI Waterproofing had done extensive work in my basement for the previous owner, so I opted to give them a try myself to resolve new problems that had not been previously addressed. John and his men were responsive and professional.  The work was done as expected and in a reasonable amount of time.  The price was right for the scope of the work requested.  Hand digging was required to expose the foundation outside.  I opted to remove the plants in my garden bed myself before the work was done.  I'm glad I did so. The men worked around the one larger hydrangea I did not move, and it was pretty roughed up during the process.  (I cut back the broken branches that were covered with tar, and I think it will be OK.)  We have had one good rain since the work was done, and the repaired areas in the basement show no signs of dampness.  So I am hopeful.  My sole criticism of the work is that clean-up could have been done better.  Gravel used to fill the window well was spilled into the adjacent garden bed on top of plants.  I spent about 2 hours sorting that out and sweeping the porch and basement where dirt and cement were left.

"We had three companies call us back. Company 1 met with us to discuss our wishes and drew a rough sketch of the proposed work. They said they would work up a more detailed drawing and e-mail it to us for review. A few days later the sales rep sent a text asking if we had a chance to look at his proposal. I said we never received the drawing and perhaps it was sent to the wrong e-mail address. I confirmed my e-mail address and was told that he would correct and resend. I never heard back from them. Company 2 met with us to discuss our wishes. We ended the meeting with the expectation that they would send me a formal proposal. I never heard from them at all so they were even less responsive than Company 1. Fortunately Universal Unlimited called us also. Universal Unlimited (Hector Marmol the owner) wasn't the first to respond to our project request but his was the most responsive. We set up a meeting. Hector Marmol (the owner) listened to our wants and used his PC to create a rendering of the proposed deck based on our talking points. We also inquired about PVC fencing for a future date. Hector gave us a very attractive price for a bundled package of decking and fencing. We accepted although I was a little hesitant because most of his reviews were for fencing. I'm glad we made the decision since the final results were exceptional. Props to Jose Salguero who did most of the work."
