"Kirk Hanes, owner of Homes By Hanes, built a house for myself and my husband. Kirk did an outstanding job for us and made the whole new-build process so easy. He communicated with us throughout the entire process. He listened to all of my suggestions and made every attempt to give me exactly what I wanted. He also addressed any concerns I had with immediate attention. He is a wonderful builder who pays attention to detail in the building process to assure everything is perfect. We were so happy with Kirk as a builder, we are actually wanting him to do an add-on room to our new-build home. Great experience with Homes By Hanes!!!"

"Phillip Miller is a happy-go-lucky guy who probably has a lot of friends, but he is a poor businessman. He is disorganized, doesn't communicate, is super slow, and charges high prices without doing quality work. His contract had incomplete sentences that didn't make sense. He gave me two contracts but I spilled food on one so I used the other one. I thought they were identical. Then he said I signed the wrong contract. But did he give me a new one? No! He is unprofessional, uncommunicative, doesn't care, and a crook. His estimates were way off. He charged 25% for basically sending subcontractors to my house. I owned several rental properties and know how to find my own subcontractors. I didn't need to pay him 25% for making a few phone calls. He did some of the work himself and he didn't know what he was doing. He charged me $50 for removing an extension cord. I could have done that in two minutes. But $50?! He said he ordered products when he didn't, he said subcontractors would be there and then they wouldn't show. He didn't communicate details to subcontractors so they used the wrong products. Much of the work was sloppy and subpar. He pressured me into accepting an electrician's bid and I later learned I paid double what I should have. He lied to me several times. He took months to finish a project that could have been completed in a couple of months. I asked him for updates on the project but he rarely contacted me. I could write pages about the blunders he made. AND I learned he has had lawsuits filed against him. Too bad I found this out too late. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"They didn't go. That's the problem. It took two and a half months instead of two and a half weeks. Cuz I would never come over and do the job. And when you show off the work, nobody would show up, it was one person at a time and they weren't in the Uh, even in the orders, they needed to be in. You have to have electricians here to make sure everything is disconnected, if they don't disconnect it and turn off the power somebody could have gotten really hurt. Instead they left Live wires everywhere. The gentleman who said he was an electrician, did he? He, he would, he didn't do it correctly because he didn't put the wires in the condolence because he didn't know. That was part of Texas code if you don't go by cold, you're not a certified electrician. They just hired anybody off the street to come and do the job, that was it. They all were either, they were Hispanic in which it was very difficult for us to To talk to. And they just, they didn't even know Ruth who was the, um, Or just the project manager."

"Quality Work By Ron completed a full gut and remodel of my lake house, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Their craftsmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail were outstanding from start to finish. Anytime I had a question, they were patient and explained everything clearly. The project managers stayed in constant communication and checked in often to ensure everything was perfect and on schedule. The crews were extremely knowledgeable, worked together seamlessly, and handled every challenge without hesitation. They were also friendly, easy to talk to, and genuinely interested in me as a person, which made the entire process enjoyable. The final result exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend Quality Work By Ron to anyone wanting quality work and an amazing experience!"

FAQs for kitchen remodel projects in Greenville, TX

Your galley kitchen needs adequate clearance around any island installation to maintain functionality. Most galley kitchens lack sufficient width for traditional islands, as these layouts prioritize efficiency in smaller spaces.

If your kitchen has an unusual width, consult with a kitchen designer who can evaluate your specific dimensions and recommend appropriate solutions. For narrower spaces, consider alternatives like rolling carts or narrow work tables that provide additional surface area without permanently restricting movement.

Kitchen remodels require six to 10 weeks for completion, though timelines vary based on project scope and material availability. Simple updates like cabinet refinishing and countertop replacement might finish within a few weeks, while comprehensive renovations involving structural changes often extend beyond two months.

Planning stages add approximately four weeks before construction begins. Maintaining clear communication with your contractor and ordering materials early helps prevent unnecessary delays.

Common errors include insufficient clearance between opposing countertops, inadequate lighting that creates shadowy work areas, and poor storage planning that leaves countertops cluttered. Some homeowners select oversized appliances that overwhelm the space or invest in expensive features that don't address fundamental workflow issues.

Careful planning, accurate measurements, and consultation with experienced professionals help avoid these pitfalls and ensure your renovation successfully addresses your kitchen's specific challenges.

Whether expansion makes sense depends on your home's layout, your budget, and your long-term plans. Combining a galley kitchen with neighboring spaces creates more open, flexible layouts that many buyers prefer. However, removing walls involves substantial costs, particularly if they contain plumbing, electrical systems, or structural elements.

Sometimes, optimizing your existing galley layout through better storage solutions and lighting proves more cost-effective than expansion. Consult with a contractor to evaluate specific costs for your situation.

Effective galley kitchen lighting combines multiple sources to eliminate shadows and create visual spaciousness. Overhead fixtures provide general illumination, while under-cabinet lighting illuminates work surfaces directly. Consider recessed ceiling fixtures that don't protrude into limited headspace.

Lighting with dimming capabilities allows adjustment for different activities. Reflective surfaces like glass tile backsplashes or glossy cabinet finishes help bounce light throughout the space, reducing the corridor effect common in galley layouts.
