"Fast response. Detailed, informative visit to make estimate. Quickly provided estimate. Estimate seemed high. Estimate detailed labor and materials costs and stated "$50 coupon included." This seemed weird. I expected detailed costs to be listed then $50 deducted from that. He stated that labor costs were reduced by $50. Upon further inquiry, he was equivocal about per/hour labor charges. I didn't like that either. Straw that broke the camel's back: his charges did not include drywall repair."

"Ron ordered the materials and they arrived in the timeframe that he expected.  He then set up an appointment for us that was very timely and all work was performed on schedule.  The whole process takes a couple of days and didn't make anywhere near as much noise as we expected.  The coating looks great and he provided us with procedures on how to clean spills, etc. that occur.  He also sells cabinets and storage racks and we will go back to him when we determine which of those items we need. <br />"

"Amboy Korling and his assistant were extremely polite and professional.  They did nice work, particularly on the door frame, where looks are critical.  They arrived at 8 am, with materials, and set up their table saw on the patio. They plugged it in and began work.  They were finished at about 4 pm, on a job that could easily have taken 2 days.   <br /> They replaced the rotted header for the door with a nice piece of 4x4 lumber.  They replaced the casing for the door, making sure that the original door would still fit.  It looks great and all we need is to have it painted. <br /> They cut and installed extensions for about 40 rafters under the eaves.  The original rafters were rounded at the end so that they would not take a gutter.  The extensions will allow us to get well-placed gutters.  Our present gutters were installed with a crude system that led to the dry rot problem. <br /> The original plan had been for them to add a downspout in the middle of the gutter on one side of the house, but after looking at the relatively simple installation of the gutters they left that out, and cut $200 from the price.  However, they tilted the gutter so that it would drain to the far end: if the original installer had done this, the dry rot wouldn't have happened to begin with. <br /> We're now on our way to having the woodwork of the entire house painted, and new gutters installed, but those are tasks for other contractors.   <br /> This was a great repair to something that I had despaired of getting fixed.  <br /> <br />"
