"The technician always comes to the door before starting work to alert us that he is in the yard. The work is accomplished quickly and quietly. The technician leaves an invoice in a plastic bag on my front door knob. It is convenient to pay the invoice online. When my lawn gets enough water, which is my responsibility, it looks great. However, if this drought continues much longer, I may have to resort to xeriscaping.

"We contacted Gwyny last spring after reading other positive reviews of Bottoms Up on Angie?s List. We had a litany of small- to medium-size projects we wanted to address, but we were overwhelmed at the thought of tackling them all ourselves. We have a small house on a large corner lot, so there is a lot of yard to contend with, and it seemed like her company would be a good fit with the work we were looking to do.

She stopped by a couple days after our initial phone call to walk through the yard and discuss the work: removing turf and replacing with mulch; removing weeds and certain plants in planters and replacing with succulents; installing landscape lighting, etc. She emailed us a quote within 24-hours of our meeting. We immediately felt comfortable with her and were pleased with the quote we received, so we moved forward with scheduling the work.

Gwyny is so knowledgeable, and she has really great ideas about how to create a beautiful and useful landscape. We had a general idea of what we wanted, but she was able to guide us in the right direction through the whole process. For example, we have a large planter surrounding a very large tree in our backyard that was just wasted space. Gwyny suggested turning it into a sandbox, and our two little ones have played in it almost every day since we did so.

Also, since we were having quite a bit of turf removed and replaced with drought-resistant landscaping, she steered us toward Pasadena?s Turf Removal Program. We received a rebate of $1,600, which helped offset the cost of the landscaping.

Working with Gwyny was a wonderful personal experience. She answers the phone AND does the work with her amazing crew of guys. If my wife and I had attempted to do all this work ourselves (in the spare 5-minutes we get each week in between raising our two toddlers), it would have taken us a year or more to do what Gwyny and her guys did in two days. And it may have ended in our divorce. Just kidding. But not really.

We couldn?t be happier with the service we received as well as the end result. Our neighbors and friends have all commented on the beauty of our yard. We receive so much more enjoyment out of it, and the best part is that it requires much less ongoing maintenance than it did before.

We have already recommended Gwyny and her crew to another friend of ours, and we will happily recommend her to any and all that ask!

From the two Nicks coming out to talk about the project and ideas for the space and what I wanted the space to be, through to the actual demolition of the area and the transformation to the new yard. Raul, the project manager assigned to my project was amazing. He arrived on time, spoke to me about what they would accomplish that day and kept me informed on the next steps to the project. Raul and his crew were more than I expected. I highly recommend Haven Hub for your landscaping transformations. Even a couple of weeks after the work was done they called to be sure everything was OK and that I was happy with their work. I love the follow up and customer service standard of this company."

"We met with Jeff in April after not connecting with other contractors the year before. Loved the idea of the larger patio roof with integrated rain gutters and the price was justified. Decided to replace the flagstone patio area and pool deck with pavers and then added on the front walkway as well. Replacing the sliding glass door had always been in the plan. Broke ground right before Memorial weekend, which is when we decided to add on an additional walkway, fake grass, and mow strip. No problem except the flagstone stepping stone walkway was removed prior to our go ahead (my husband had told Jeff he needed to talk to me first). Jeff uses different crews for different parts of projects: paver crew, patio cover crew, rain gutter crew, lawn crew, door installer/handyman at the end. All the foremen of these crews speak English so it was easy to communicate with them and they were very willing to accommodate changes and listen to ideas. The only hard part is that they just show up sometimes to do X, Y, or Z. It wasn't a huge problem but would have appreciated a quick text. The project took longer than expected as Jeff refused the first door sent to him for install because it was damaged (thank you) and then it was back ordered. Meanwhile, other parts of the project were getting done. Overall, it turned out great. My husband and I love it, our friends and family love it, and it has expanded our living space as well."
