"The office people and the installers were very friendly. There were some minor delays. After installation, there were a couple areas that needed adjustment as there was leakage. They did fix those. I realize that having a metal roof is not all that compatible with these types of gutters. but, the most important thing was to avoid the clogging of leaves and other tree debris. At this very time (10/14/2020) I do see some imbedded leaves, but, will wait to see what happens. Hopefully, there will be no future problems. Right now, I can say I WOULD hire them again, but, we'll see."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. "My experience with Real Dry was exceptional throughout the whole process. Last year, we were getting water in our basement whenever there was a heavy rain. Steve came and assessed the situation, and recommended digging wells around our basement windows and door and filling them with gravel for better drainage straight down (rather than toward the house/windows). We initially talked about also digging a well in the front of the house, where water would pool due to our lack of gutters and then come in through the foundation. So the initial estimate included all of that. When Steve arrived on the actual day with his crew, I told him that I didn't think we needed to have a well in the front of the house because I was planning on getting gutters and that should take care of that. He adjusted the estimate accordingly with absolutely no hassle. The work itself was done quickly and professionally and the basement has been bone dry ever since, despite some incredibly heavy rain. I HIGHLY recommend this company for basement waterproofing projects."

"I had been looking for awhile to find someone to replace my brick porch. Poor initial construction, age, insects and weather had taken it's toll. This could be a nightmare of an experience if not done correctly so it was important to me that I get someone who knew what they were doing to get the job done. I found Western Mass Masons on Angie's list and called for an estimate. Dave (I believe the owner) arrived promptly and spent at least an hour reviewing the problems and making suggestions on how to resolve them. An estimate was sent to me and I accepted, scheduling the work for the following spring. After an inital delay due to issues on another project (I was called and told that there would be a delay which I had no problem with) Dave came back to review the details of the job and the work began promptly as promised. A backhoe was brought in and the existing porch was quickly demolished and removed after the portico was made secure. Nearby existing brick veneer on the house was also carefully removed and found to have water damage underneath which was brought to my attention. A good portion of the time was spent on building a solid foundation for the new porch. While the porch foundation was being done the cracked foundation blocks for the house were cut out and replaced. I was very specific on the design of the porch as I wanted it to be in proportion to the portico as well as stay in the style of the house. Dave worked with me on this making a number of suggestions on how to retain the look and build in a way that would minimize the effects of weather over time to the brick. I was also very pleased with the match of the bricks to the existing veneer, looks great. Drainage work was done as described. When everything was finished carpenters were called in to replace the six columns that held up the portico. Dave and his crew did an excellent job, professionals on every level. I am very pleased with the result, the porch is beautiful. I have peace of mind as well knowing that everything was done correctly, no corners were cut, nothing is going to fall apart in a year or two. I would highly recommend Western Mass Masons and will use Angie's list again."
