"I must admit, I had Unicorp replace all of the windows in our home with new vinyl energy efficient windows 10 or more years ago. Their installers were excellent. The quality of their windows were excellent. The proof in the pudding is that after 8 years not one of my windows has an air leak. Not one has leaked water. Not one window has had the vinyl or track break. In short, nothing has happened. Now that's a quality window! We also purchased a custom sliding glass door (in the kitchen to the deck) from Unicorp that to this day I believe is the best door in my entire home. That door is opened and closed constantly to let the cats in and out. If you own cats, you will understand how often that door is opened and closed on a daily basis. We have not had a single hiccup ever with that door. And in the winter, I sit right behind the door and no matter how cold or windy it is, I never feel a thing at the kitchen table. Because Unicorp did such a great job in replacing the windows in our home, my wife insisted that we use Unicorp to replace the roof last week. If you see my review on the roof, they did a 5 star job."

"I called and left a message for a call back on Sunday and Jessie called me back on that Monday. I found him to be pleasant and very easy to work with. I advised Jessie what the problem was with mine and my tenants roof and I ask him what he thought it would take to repair both sides. He had quoted me a price, but after his assistant had looked at what was needed, he was upfront and advised that it would be more and gave me a bottom line price which I thought was reasonable and fair. "They did an excellent job. I have a shining brand new roof and it is all because of them. I was working at home when one of their men rang my doorbell and told me that they were working in the neighborhood. He was very polite and wanted to know if they could check my roof for damage because they were doing free inspections for the neighbors of the house where they were replacing the roof. Also, he said that he could see that my roof might have wind damage. I really didn't have time to watch them crawling on my roof and I let him know that but he told me that they didn't even have to get on the roof to check it. They could just fly a drone over and take pictures. It would take about 15 minutes and they did not need me to even be there. They just needed my approval. And I would get a free roof inspection out of it. If it turned out that there was damage to the roof, their experts would see it in the drone photos. If there was damage, they even promised to help me with my insurance company. I figured that I had nothing to lose. So I told them to go ahead and forgot about it. They emailed me the roof inspection a day later. Along with it came a series of photos of my roof. Apparently, their experts saw something in the drone photos because they contacted me and wanted to go a step further and send men up on the roof to check out what appeared to be damage that they saw in the photos. Again, I did not even have to be there for this inspection either. They sent a roof expert up and he confirmed that there was sufficient damage to talk to my insurance. I'd heard this kind of thing before and was not a believer but I let them contact and talk to my insurance which is USAA. I don't know if you know USAA but they are very good at this stuff and would never have let this go any further if there wasn't a real problem. USAA sent out an inspector and Eastern Exteriors had one of their men come and talk to him. Then they took him up on the roof and showed him the damage. Again, I didn't have to even be there for the process. They dealt with USAA and showed them the damage. USAA agreed with their roofing experts about the damage to the roof and sent me a decision to that fact. Then they sent me the money to replace the roof. Again, all I did was receive the letter from USAA and call Eastern Exteriors who scheduled a day to replace my roof. Before they started, they must have checked the yard thoroughly. Because even though I had spent a few minutes preparing for this beforehand. I had accidently left a rather expensive piece of equipment in an hard to get to place in the yard. It was out of sight but might have been hit by some of the debris from the roof. They really checked the worksite closely before they started because they found it and moved it out of the way. On the job, they were extremely professional. They showed up early and did the work quickly and cleanly. In less than a day, they removed my old roof and replaced it with a new one. They were very good about their work. My wife and I were working in the house the whole time and did not hear a thing! If I hadn't seen the new roof I wouldn't have believed that they were working up there. They were that quiet. After they finished replacing the roof, they cleaned up after themselves thoroughly. They not only cleaned up all debris from the job but ran magnets over the yard to ensure that no nails got left behind. They even checked the driveway which is quite a distance from the roof but I was especially worried about because of the possibility of getting a nail in a car tire. The super service continued after the job. They helped me with my insurance company the whole way. Even calling them when the check for the work was delayed because of the problems we are having with the mail right now. I really cannot say enough about John and Chris Moye other than to say if or when they come to your door, listen to them. My wife thought it was a scam and tried to get me to blow them off when they first came around but they sounded knowledgeable and just wanted to fly a drone over my house for a few minutes. Now she admits that we would have missed a golden opportunity if I hadn't listened to them. And we would have."

I contacted George's Painting because of all the great reviews on Angie's List and am very happy that I did. I at first contacted them via email and received a prompt reply saying George would be out at 10:00 am on a Monday. I emailed back that that would be a good time for me. At 10:30 no one had come so I found a cell phone number for George who answered immediately and apologized and offered to come right away, which he did. He had not gotten the message about the 10:00 am appointment, which can happen when others are involved. George arrived and quickly understood what we needed done: we have 5 dormer windows that all had rotted wood around the glass as well as the sidesf. George suggested replacing it with PVC which will last many times longer than wood, and I was thrilled with that idea. He also suggested PVC for the outside frame of our little garage door, which had rotted away. He discussed using the highest quality Sherwin Williams paint, as well as washing the siding which had never been washed before. I was concerned that a power wash would take the paint off of our 30 year old siding but he said it wouldn't and he was right. I had had another company on Angie's list (the same company who had painted our house about 6 years ago) give me an estimate a week before and they never offered to wash the siding, only the mildewed part that they would paint. The other company said I could wash the siding myself and never offered to replace the rotted wood with PVC. They wanted to do what they had done the last time they were out which was to fill it with bondo or wood putty.  George repeated many times that they would make the house beautiful and do whatever it took to make it that way. He explained that first a crew would come out to wash the house, then another crew of carpenters to find and replace all the rotted wood, then another crew to scrape and paint. I did mention that I would like the window sills and any other surface sanded, not just scraped, but unfortunately this did not happen. I think they would have if I had asked them to but I assumed they would since I had mentioned it to George. However, the final painting job looks very good, although the little garage door really should have been sanded. However, this was the only minor thing that happened that I feel could have been done better.

The guys that washed the house were extremely careful and used a low pressure wash to methodically squirt every piece of siding from top to bottom. They did not miss one spot and I cannot believe how beautiful and clean the house came out. I even joked that now it did not need painting since it truly looked clean and fresh just from the chlorox wash. They were able to get all of the green off and every speck of black mildew, even under the eaves. These guys spent half a day just doing this.

The next work day, the carpenter Joel came and tested every piece of wood for rot. Wherever there was rot, he removed it all and cut a precise piece of PVC from the large sheets and long framing lengths he brought with him. He had all of the right equipment and was very good at measuring and cutting. He honestly worked for 5 full days and replaced twice as much as I thought there was to be replaced. I even called George and said I didn't know there was so much rot and I expected to pay more than the estimate because Joel was truly finding more - including window sills and the undersides of our mansard roof. George said he would charge just for the extra material they had to buy, which is what he did.

The next week, a large crew came and George showed me the Emerald Brand of Sherwin Williams paint and the two kinds of caulking they would be using on the house. He also pointed out that he first put primer on, then the paint, and didn't just use paint with primer in it. I had been worried about the caulking because I know that that is as important as paint for protecting against moisture, and the guys came through. Every gap was found and caulked with new white caulking appropriate for the material (siding, brick, or wood) that needed to be caulked. They must have had 6 tubes of caulking for our house. The guys worked from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm and finished in one day. George even surprised me by showing me a gallon of paint he had had especially mixed to paint our brown shutters and front door! I had not even asked for this, thinking we would just paint the white trim, and at first I was reluctant because I didn't think painting plastic shutters was a good idea, but George tested a small sample and I was sold. When the painting was all finished, the shutters and front door turned out to be the Piece de resistance! It made our house look 20 years younger and as fresh as a model home.
