"Wow! Amy is top notch. She spent 2 hours at my home on her first visit, carefully assessing the space and learning my design style. Even at that first visit she gave me so many ideas on how to transform the space, and I loved them all. She is so easy to work with! I have spent 20 years staring at the space and hating it, and in 2 hours she gave me hope and confidence. The design process that followed was easy and fun, using Pinterest. Amy then made a return visit to my home with hard copies of her final design, incorporating my choices. And the price was very reasonable! I have never felt confident about choosing home furnishings in the past, but Amy presented me with a wonderful selection of items, ALL of which would work in the space, giving me the confidence to know that whatever I chose, it would work. Amy immediately replies to e-mails and texts, and reached out to me frequently during the selection process. I will absolutely hire Amy again for the next project!"

"Exceptional work! We had Mike design our basement layout, and had a fantastic experience. Not only did we like the results, the contractors we sent the plans to said his design was some of the best they had seen (dimensions, completeness, etc). We opted to have Mike provide 3 initial designs, and paid extra for 3d renderings which were well worth the money to visualize the completed space. Our designs included a closet, exercise area, dining area, bedroom, office, bathroom, family room (with kitchenette), and a TV wall. I have zero regrets, and Mike was easy to work with, turned the designs around per our timeline, and provided all of the drawings needed to bid out the work. I would recommend him to anyone!"

"Heather is a delight to work with and has been the design genius for our new house. i'd gladly give her a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5. She designed the color scheme for the entire house, made a suggestion for backsplash that transformed the kitchen from nice to great, she went with me to choose carpet that is better than I could have ever done myself. She worked wonderfully with the contractors on placement of colors in transition areas and they loved working with her. She figured out how to arrange furniture in a space that is difficult to work with. I cannot recommend her too highly. "Design Q & A (Paul) was the catalyst for making decisions we had procrastinated on for years. He generated many alternative ideas and designs based on what we said we wanted and what he thought we might need, with numerous critical questions along the way. Also feedback on detail design choices and placement. Multiple design cycles. The designs we ended up with, while not actual blueprints, were detailed enough for professional remodelers to use. We moved a bedroom from upstairs to basement, doubled the upstairs bathroom size, grew the primary bedroom, added a walk-in closet, and repaired the basement flood damage. Many things we should have done long ago. Paul got us going to a better place."

"We purchased a new home which was in excellent condition but seriously dated. We wanted to redecorate and do some structural changes before we moved in. We pulled up the old carpet and replaced it with lovely maple hardwood floors. We had the popcorn ceilings removed, we repainted the walls, had new baseboards installed to achieve consistency, selected light fixtures, purchase new furniture, and made a number of other minor but important changes to hinges, doorknobs, and that sort of thing in order to achieve a coordinated and finished look. Vicki offered us a variety of services at a reasonable price: she offered design advice on colors and finishes, she went to the store with us to look at furniture and rugs, she did research to help us find special fixtures, and finally, we asked her to take on the project management so all this could be coordinated with minimum hassle for us. She does an outstanding job of project management. She also has excellent connections to skilled specialists who are really a joy to work with. She put us in contact with her flooring guy, two different carpenters , a painter, a window treatment specialist, and others. These craftspeople were all professional, responsive, and did excellent work. Everybody who comes into our home comments on how lovely it looks. We tried working with several other designers before we met Vicki. It is not easy to find someone who is capable and pleasant to work with. When we met Vicki, we discovered she has good ideas but is flexible. She is responsive and affordable. And she's fun to work with! We initially started with Vicki on the basic work. But we enjoyed working with her so much that we expanded the project and continued to work with her on a number of things. We recommend Vicki enthusiastically for design, research, and project management."

"I had inherited these two old, well made, super comfy chairs that I loved but they were just really ugly. I was going to get rid of them, and buy new chairs and after shopping for weeks I realized that I couldn't find anything that was nearly as comfortable and well made that wasn't going to cost just as much money, if not more, than if I just had my old, comfy favorite chairs recovered.  So I found Harriann Upholstery on Angie's List and went to their shop to find fabric and talk about my project.  I knew I was going to be spending a lot of money, and was a little nervous, but Jean, the owner's wife (who runs the shop) was simply wonderful!  She asked my budget, if I had animals (evidently some fabrics are better with animals), and when I found some choices she went through them with me to tell me the pros and cons of each.  The fabric choice we made turned out to be perfect. If you're thinking about having something re-upholstered this is the place to go!  When they delivered the chairs and Bob opened the back door of the truck, I almost started crying.  The chairs were completely transformed.  Every inch and every detail was done to perfection.  This man is an artist - his work is just amazing!  I wish I owned more furnture that I could have him transform into more beautiful pieces.  I would recommend Harriann to anyone who is looking to have a old piece of furniture brought back to life!

"I hosted a "Wine and Design" event with Melanie and had so much fun. I invited 4 friends, my 2 daughters, and my husband. Melanie quickly showed us how I could make my dining room appear bigger, simply by turning the table. She also helped me with some pointers on easy tricks to open up the space in my bedroom. Lastly, the design project was focused on my basement. Melanie taught us all by rearranging my existing furniture and adding a few decorative pieces, it changed the entire mood of the room and made it way more functional, inviting, and cozy. My friends all benefited from Melanie's help as well. Everyone brought a picture of a troubled area/room of their homes. Melanie gave them each helpful advice on how to change the space. Melanie also gave a talk on current style trends and a quick tutorial on choosing paint. We were about to start a major home remodel and her paint advice was so helpful throughout the entire process of the remodel. My home now feels more congruent and it flows. I cannot say enough about Melanie's expertise. My two daughters constantly quote what they learned from Melanie when it comes to the design of our home. Melanie brings a warmth, fun, and an expert eye for making your home the best version of itself. I loved that I did not feel pressure of needing to purchase new furniture for my home and that she used the pieces we had to make it better. I loved my time with Melanie and highly recommend her."
