All of our cedar fence materials are shipped direct from a small family owned mill in northern Maine. We build and install all of our own work and do not subcontract any of our quality products. "Preston Schmidt works alone and works harder than I can describe! He gently power washed each cedar shake on our large and complicated roof. It was early October in Minnesota, so he worked from 10 AM to 5 PM for two days on the cleaning, replacing about 6 shingles. Preston had to use lots of safety precautions while washing the roof. The roof had to thoroughly dry before he could apply the seal coating. Nature did not cooperate as it rained every day for a week. However, when we finally had two days of sunny dry weather, Preston finished the seal coating. The roof looks fantastic!"

"Ten weeks after paying 2/3 of the total, hardly anything has been completed. The company is a small family owned business, with no customer service skills and not even the courtesy of returning phone calls. You need to chase them for information. Their installation staff would take off during the job for extended periods. The job took forever to complete and was done in installments. The worse company I have dealt with in my 37 years of home ownership."

"I had considered trying to do this job myself (well having my step-father do it), but after seeing a video review of the strength of the various "DIY" polls vs. the Protect-A-Child fence I decided to try and find a vendor to install it. I came across Susan and Jeff and am so happy that I did. They were really easy to communicate with, and offered some great suggestions that ended up changing the way we wanted to have the fence configured. Jeff came and had it installed in a half day, connecting up against an existing fence. Really happy we went with this company, any extra money over what a DIY version would have cost was certainly saved in stress and time."
