"I am not sure how this Company got any 5s. I had a project done years ago and I became the Foreman! Damaged wood installed, door jams installed incorrectly, and I have a “lifetime” warranty on skylights they can never seem to fix and it is causing more damage to items THEY INSTALLED conveniently NOT covered by their warranty. Once I agreed to go all in with this company I stayed with project but in hindsight I wish I had gone with someone else even if they were more expensive! And this Company was not the lowest quote but they were great salesman who have yet to deliver the quality product they promised me. I am very frustrated because I have been dealing with this FOR YEARS! I prefer giving smaller businesses MY business. Not that I have anything against big businesses, I have utilized them too, but this experience is making me rethink small business support with this kind of lack luster overall service. They rushed me for full payment to move on to another project, and since then I have been a non priority. And believe me, I have been extremely patient as I waited for them to make things right before writing an bad review but I am tired of what feels like, the brush off."

"BUYER BEWARE!!!! I went with Window World because 2 of my friends recommended them. I am truly sorry that I did. My windows were installed yesterday and the installation went okay and the 2 guys were friendly but they did not speak English. That was not a problem until the job was complete. The foreman, who spoke a little English, could not answer any of my questions so I figured I could call the office to get clarification on the warranty and aftercare (maintenance, caulking, issues). I was also surprised that there was no final inspection of each window. I asked him to do that with me but he did not understand. I filled out his survey and gave him a good score, which I shouldn't have done. Hindsight - I shouldn't have signed off on any of the work. When they left, I did a visual inspection of each window and found that one of the screens was ripped and separating from the bottom corner. I immediately called and spoke to Steve. He said he would call me back. (This was at 12:00 noon yesterday and I still haven't had any resolution). Upon further inspection, I could tell the caulk that was used is very low grade caulk, especially on the outside of the window. I've had windows installed before and both times the installers used a really thick clear plastic caulk on the outside of the window. These guys used a really small bead of white caulk which is still very wet. I honestly don't think it is weather proof or good enough to withstand the elements. I then decided to make the best of it all and hang my blinds back up but to my amazement, there is no way I can hang them back up. I have custom made inside mounted blinds and there is no way to hang them. The windows are literally installed flush to the trim with no header to accommodate inside mounts. The blinds cost me a good bit of money less than 2 years ago and now they are now nothing more than expensive firewood! I would assume that someone during the sales process, the measurement process, or the install process could have mentioned that. The sales guy and the measurement guy could see I had inside mounted blinds. I would not have gotten new windows, at least not with Window World, if I would have known inside mounts were not going to be possible or that they only knew how to hang a window flush to the trim. I've been told that there is a way to install new windows and allow for an inside jamb. They just did it the lazy way by sticking it right up to the inside jamb. It is now over a day since I called and spoke to Steve and complained about the broken/separated screen. I also emailed Chris, who sold me the windows and as all as he did was forward my email to Steve. Steve did email me back this morning giving me a choice of dates and I quickly responded to him. That was at 10AM this morning and no response or confirmation of when they will be back. It's not like I have a job or anything to worry about working around (insert sarcasm). Honestly, they could care a less about my time. One final note, the windows are very cheaply made. I got the midgrade and the screens are like paper and flimsy as h***. The glass on the windows does not keep any heat from the sun out (I should know - I don't have blinds!), and the windows do not easily go up and down. I have to physically force one of them to go up and down and another one of the windows has a hard time staying closed at the top once you unlock the window. I have to hold it up and in place to lock it. These are very cheap and not worth what I paid! Again, BUYER BEWARE!"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Hancock, MD

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
