"I highly recommend the No-Nonsense Termite Company to get rid of termite and/or other insect and rodent problems that you may have in your home. They're very efficient and their prices are very reasonable. Excellent customer service."

"Alex, he is a great guy, easy to talked to, very helpful, and did a great job!, I definitely would go back and hire him for any other problem I will encounter in my home. I would easily recommend him to all my friends and families that might need help with pest controls and termites."

"Excellent. Painless. We saw dropping from our wood framed sliding glass door, so we thought it had to be termites. The last time we had termites, we tented and it was awful. We were delighted that this company advertised with KFI radio or else we wouldn't have known about them. The two licensed inspectors were very thorough. They explained how each of their treatments worked. As they found termites, they showed us the droppings. When the technicians arrived (on time) to do the work a few days later, we were pleasantly surprised how considerate they were. They were efficient, knowledgable, and cleaned up after themselves. They even brought their own vacuum cleaner. We would use them again. So nice that we didn't have to move out for a few days and are confident our problem has been taken care of."

"This company uses the Orange Oil* and microwaves to treat for termites; and boric acid (Timborand reg;) on exposed wood to prevent future infestations. They use video cameras to look in the walls to determine which studs are affected.
Miguel was prompt on arrival, courteous and did a more thorough examination of the rafters than the previous termite inspector from another company. But it was clear that he was not nearly as experienced as another inspector from a third company that subsequently inspected our home.
He did not look in the attic nor check the crawl space under the floor. He relied on the previous inspection of another company that inspected the crawl space and found no termites. He only speculated as to how the termites were getting into the home, and did not verify the entry point.
We were quoted $720 to treat the affected studs, and $1260 to treat the affected studs and apply Timborand reg; to exposed wood for termites. (These prices include their 10% internet discount) The whole house treatment includes a 3 year warranty with yearly inspections. There is an option for an extended warranty at a cost of $200/year. The extended warranty is available only if the original warranty has not expired.
We considered this company, but subsequently learned from our county Agricultural Commissioner's Office that they see more repeat treatments when orange oil or microwave treatment is used compared to chemical treatment (fipronil aka. Thermadorand reg;, or fumigation). We are concerned this may indicate that the microwave and orange oil treatment are not as effective in eradicating termites despite a controlled study conducted by the University of California [Vernard R. Lewis et al, Journal of Economic Entomology 89(4): 922 - 934 (1996)) that suggests the method holds promise. The county Agricultural Commissioner's Office confirmed that boric acid treatment on exposed wood works well for prevention of termites and fungus.

*Addendum: At the end of the inspection we received a hand written estimate from Miguel based on the work and process we verbally discussed and he explained. We did not receive a written estimate until after this review was written. There is a discrepancy in what we believe we were told (that they use Orange Oil) and what the formal written estimate/contract states -that they use fipronil [and not Orange Oil]. We also noted discrepancies in what were told by the inspectors versus the terms of the written estimate/contract with other companies so this is not unique to this company. We would recommend reviewing the formal estimate/contract with any company before committing to any work.

"Dave was a complete professional. I looked at 5 other pest control companies and Dave was the only one that lined up with all the research I was doing for termite control. All other companies were pushing for the maximum $$$ to spend. Dave knew his stuff and I felt comfortable that he didnâ t push other high dollar services to resolve my issue. Iâ m glad I went with no-nonsense and would recommend them every time."

"I have been a property manager in Los Angeles and Orange Counties for the last 8 years. Star at Surf City Pest Control is my go-to person for all pest control issues. She is very responsive to email and phone. Surf City provides excellent prices, quality work, and honors their warranties with no hassles."

"

This company was wonderful.  George was very professional and recognized immediately not only where the problem was, but also knew that the problem was due to a rat or rats.  He put traps in areas that he felt would catch the rodent and within a few days he caught one.  His associate Thomas has come each week since and checks the traps.  He, too, is very responsible and fairly prompt.

I highly recommend this company for any pest control problems.

"Wilson came out to give me an estimate for termite control and he was wonderful. He was polite and very thorough"

"I had to have them come back and redid my garage. They said they would do my garage when I empty it. I had termite issues. Cleaned up after themselves. They used stuff that I believe is going to be long lasted. They used Termidore. A combination. They eat the wood literally. I believe its better than painting. They eat it and take it home. The poison kills them. That is amazing."

"Fabulous. An odd word to apply to termite dealings, but it did. Shawn and his associate Jonathan came over (not only on time, but called ahead of time as I had asked to make sure all the four foots were taken care of.) They explained the processes they were doing, answered any and all my questions as well. However, the clincher was how meticulous they were and their attention to detail. I feel very confidant in their work, and if, for any reason termites rear their ugly little heads they will come back as many times as it takes until they are gone. An added bonus, the ants went buh-bye as well! If every company ran like this, Angie's list wouldn't be needed!"
