"I wish I could give this company a better rating but I cannot do so in good conscience. The quality of the windows and installation is very good. The price was fantastic. The crew cleaned up after themselves.
  I was not told until AFTER I had made the down payment on the windows that the company was scheduled at least 6 weeks out for installation. The explanation for the delay, which is that we were having an exceptionally wet summer, and they could not install in the rain was valid, it just would have been nice to be advised of the anticipated wait time in advance of the purchase.
  The install actually happened 11 weeks after the initial payment was made. While circumstances beyond the company's control, like weather, are understandable, lack of communication is not. When I followed up to find out an approximate time for installation, there were long delays in response from Morningstar.
  The first two times I got a slow and dismissive answer regarding my questions about an approximate install date, I accepted the response given by Melissa, which was that the rain had pushed their schedule further back, and that additionally, their Angie's List offer had resulted in a great deal of work. When the delays continued, it became clear that in addition to being a professional salesperson, Melissa is a professional excuse maker.
  If your company gets behind due to high volume or other circumstances; the professional response is to hire more help if necessary to catch up. Clearly this is not a strategy this company employs. When I finally got an anticipated install date, first, the company from which Morningstar gets the windows allegedly did not have my order ready, which resulted in another delay. Really, I placed my order in June and the windows weren't ready in August? I believed it at first, but upon more reflection this seems highly unlikely. So we rescheduled.
  We were first told to expect the installers at 8am. We were only advised of a time when we asked, an approximate time was not offered. Then we were told that we could expect the installers at around 10am. The installers didn't arrive until around 2pm. When we inquired where they install crew was at around 11am, Melissa responded that they were on their way, that they just had to get tools from another work site. When I complained to Melissa of the delay after the install, she showed me pics of the "tools" the crew had to retrieve prior to coming to my home. The "tools" included enormous scaffolding. If she knew they had to break down something so involved, which she clearly did know, she could have told me so that I could better plan my day, but clearly she chose to keep me in the dark. Additionally, mortar had to be added into a front window as a gap was left due to the difference in thickness of our previous window and the new window. We asked that the mortar be added before it rained again because rain could get behind the brick facade and cause damage to our home. Melissa said she would have someone add the mortar right away. Several days later and after two rains, someone came back and added the mortar.
  Let me summarize by saying we are happy with the quality of the windows and installation. The crew was courteous. However, due to the lack of honest communication I would not work with this company again. Also, after the install I did some math and it became clear that the price I paid divided by the number of people on the crew working, the number of hours worked, cost of actual windows, and profit and overhead for Morningstar's owners; it was clear that there was not much money to go around. In the future I would gladly pay more for better service, which is my disposition in most purchases. I was also disappointed that the failure in communication set by ownership has trickled down to the crew. The crew abruptly left after working the last day of install without telling us they were leaving. Too bad for them because we had prepared a decent sized cash tip that they missed out on. I emphasize the challenges with this company are clearly at the owner/management level and not with the crew. I cannot recommend working with this company."

"We had been dealing with water problems in our unfinished basement for quite a while. Also, one wall was buckling and 3 other walls had moved in about an inch or so. It was past time to solve these problems. I contacted Foudation 1. Dave Zwickel came and did an thorough evaluation. I was impressed with his knowledge an expertise. At his suggestion, I contacted a structural engineer (Keith Boyd) who verified that we needed an interior drainage system with sump pumps to discharge the water and that our walls required structural supports to prevent further movement. I contracted Foundation 1 to do the work. The crew arrived on schedule and went to work installing a DuraDry waterproofing drain system along 3 sides of the basement and 2 sump pumps with battery powered backups. They also installed 28 steel beam wall supports. They work hard and did a fantastic job. The foreman, Ken, and project manager, Tom McNerney, answered all my questions and addressed my concerns promptly. When the project was finished Tom and the owner, Curt Clinkinbeard, came and looked over everything to make sure I was satisfied. I appreciated that. My basement is now dry as a bone and I'm confident it will remain that way. We now have much more usable space in our home. I am very pleased with the expertise and professionalism of Foundation 1 and would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone who needs foundation and drainage work."

"The service i received from Greggs Foundation repair was outstanding. They installed a sump as well as a new drain to prevent my basement from flooding. I needed help and i needed it fast. I sent them a last minute message on their Facebook page, they showed up the same day and went to work. I am very grateful for Greggs Foundation Repair for showing up when they did and i would recommend them to anyone having foundation issues."

"During the summer of 2017, we had water intrusion from the heavy thunderstorms. The water came in from one of our basement window wells and soaked the drywall. We had to have the drywall removed and remediated for mold. At that point, we hired Leaky Cellar to repair the cracks and remove and fill in the window well where there was water intrusion. We had used Leaky Cellar approximately 2 years earlier to patch cracks on the opposite basement wall, and their work was superior. Kevin showed up promptly for the estimate and immediately decided the best way to keep water out of the basement - patching cracks, and filling in the basement window well, which we did not use, as well as removing a concrete slab adjacent to the foundation outside and earthwork around the foundation. After a brief discussion we decided to install a sump pump, as well. Due to a large amount of business, they could not get to our house until February 2018, but that was all right with us, since they had done good work at fair price for us previously, and clearly a lot of others felt that way, too. They showed up the exact date that they said they would be available, and unfortunately, I was out of town for work. It did not matter, they set about their work efficiently and kept my wife informed as to what they were working on. The completed all work within 2 days, and this included temporarily moving our A/C unit to remove the concrete. The work was all done to our complete satisfaction at the price stated. They had an A/C company come out and re-install the A/C unit. A few months later, when we switched on the air for the warm weather, we found the compressor was not working. I phoned Leaky Cellar to let them know that our unit was not working and Corrina immediately called the A/C company and had them come out and see what was going on. It turns out that the valve to the compressor had been closed and not re-opened after re-installing it. The company (Air Solutions) and Leaky Cellar re-opened the valve, installed new coolant, and installed a new capacitor - free of charge! This was truly exemplary customer service by both companies. There was an issue, and they worked quickly to resolve it, no questions asked. I will be using both companies in the future. Thank you, Leaky Cellar! Definitely, defintely recommend!"
