"We hired John Fougere after another recommended landscaper withdrew from the project at the planning stage. The lot of land is challenging with serious slopes. We had new construction going on, were new to Chatham, and didn't know who to rely on. We interviewed a few landscapers who made it sound like the task at hand was no big deal. John was the only one who advised he was interested but was honest about his upcoming schedule and noted he could work with us but we would have to be patient. "I initially left a message for another company, but Bresnahan called back. They were prompt and after repairing the initial malfunctioning back flow preventers worked on other zone repairs. Early on I was quoted $95./hr for work + parts. I subsequently discussed wanting to see where the bill was and again went over the hrly rate, which was $95. per worker! I asked for an estimate on the remaining work but the owner said he couldn't do that and that his rates were in line with the industry. Take home message is get a full estimate before starting, since our project ballooned to $6,000. and is not done."

"Services were performed as requested. The company's crew showed up on Mondays on a regular basis to cut our lawn. The irrigation system malfunctioned early in the summer resulting in large bare patches. The irrigation folks were obviously not informed as the lawn mowers kept mowing as the bare spots appeared and grew."
