"American Landscape Management is professional, efficient, and responsive to customer needs. My sod installation happened about a month ago and since then I've seen their work transform my lawn from a stubborn, stubborn, lumpy eyesore to an inviting, soft, neat lawn that I'm proud to show to my visitors. I waited to write this review until a month after to describe how the end product looks. During the first week I saw 2-3 major yellow spots. I contacted Cole and he reassured me and explained the reason why I was seeing them. I followed his instructions and watered those areas deliberately. A month later everything looks great and integrated. You can tell right away that this company knows what they are doing. I plan to hire them in the near future to also do the back yard. Highly recommend American Landscape Management LLC!"

"I was extremely pleased with the finished job. I love my lights!!! Illuminart came out and I explained to them what I wanted. They made suggestions and placed temporary lights so I could see what the finished job would be. I was able to make changes before the final installation. John and his crew were wonderful to work with. Always responded very quickly when I called and they definitely want you to be pleased with the finished job. Awesome customer service!!"

"Greenview did an amazing job. My front yard was badly eroded, and mostly dirt. The soil at the top of the yard was about 6 inches lower than it should have been. The dirt down near the sidewalk was too high from all the washout. I knew I needed soil brought in and the whole front yard regraded. I was really concerned about this being done correctly and without damaging the sprinklers. Greenview did an amazing job restoring the grade in the front yard and laying down new sod. I also had them replace a few sprinkler heads and nozzles and they made sure the system was working correctly after the sod was installed, no blockages, etc. They also replaced my front fence and built a board on board fence to match the HOA fence it was connected to. It looks amazing. All of this work was done in two days. Absolutely recommend this company."

"Highly recommended professional company that honored the quoted price, were on schedule, and on time. Jose communicated well and ALWAYS answered our calls or called us back in a timely manner. His team was clean, professional, and left my yard in the same or better condition than when they arrived. They repaired the sod that was installed by a competitor and did an incredible job. Our new oasis in front and back of our home is EXACTLY what we were hoping for. Jose provided recommendations on plants that complement each other and placed them in the correct spot regarding the Texas sun to survive. He also repaired our sprinkler system and verified every station was operating correctly before his team left. When his supplier did not have the correct stone for our flower beds, he personally drove to where we saw the stone to ensure we received what was quoted. I will definitely call Green View Lawn and Garden for future landscaping needs and gladly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional landscaper. When Jose recommended changes, they were of added value and provided at his cost through receipts. He even took over an hour of his time to tour the nursery and ensure each plant was adequate for the location we planned. If they were not adequate due to location with regard to the sun, Jose recommended plants with similar attributes that were more suited for the location we needed. Thanks to Jose and his team for a job well done!"

"Turner took personal responsibility for the project, cleared the weeds, tilled the soil, leveled the ground, laid the sod quickly, rolled the sod, made sure our sprinkler system was working to covered the grass, and even gave me a plan for the grass s care for the first month. Top notch work for a very fair price."

Small jobs welcome

"These people gave me best estimate from 3 I had chosen. They were very informative about different plants and options. The work they did transformed my yard so much that I didn t realize how sad our yard was before they came! I had Sod laid, trees and plants with rock work done around my pool, backyard and front yard. I just hired them again to update plants in front yard for winter. Cynthia literally would shop nurseries and do the negotiating and then give me her cost for the plants and supplies! Both owners check on work done, come by to check on progress of plants and often do the work themselves with their crew. I ve gained so much trust in them that they know my style, I just tell them to pick out what they think is best. Can t say enough good things about this company! Great people !"

FAQs for sod installation projects in Haslet, TX

Seeding costs less up front, but you’ll wait months—and sometimes a full season—for the grass to fill in. Sod costs more per square foot, yet it gives you an instant, usable lawn the day it’s installed and needs far less care during the first year.

If speed and early curb appeal matter, the higher sod price is often worth it; if you’re watching every dollar and don’t mind the wait, seed can still be a smart play.

Start by sketching your lawn and breaking it into rectangles or circles. Measure each section, multiply length by width, and then add all the sections together for the total square footage. Standard sod rolls are two feet by 1.5 feet, and one pallet covers 450 square feet.

Divide your total area by 450 to see how many pallets you need, then round up—extras come in handy for cutting around curves or mistakes. Still unsure? A local sod supplier or installer can confirm your math before you order.

Most sod grips the soil within 10 to 14 days. During that stretch, keep foot traffic to a minimum and mow only if the grass gets tall. After two weeks, the roots should be strong enough for light use, but wait six weeks before heavy play or frequent mowing. Giving the grass that short honeymoon helps it anchor firmly and sets the stage for a durable, healthy lawn.

Give your new lawn two full weeks before any foot traffic, then stick to light use only. Hold off on vigorous play, parties, or regular mowing until the six-week mark so the roots can dig deep. Keep watering on schedule and watch for any dry patches. A little patience now means stronger turf and fewer repairs later.

Keep an eye on color, moisture, and even growth. Fresh sod should stay uniformly green; brown spots or gaps hint at dry soil or poor contact. Water deeply at least once a day for the first week (more in hot weather) and back off gradually after the roots take. Avoid heavy foot traffic until the grass feels firmly anchored. Quick attention to trouble spots now prevents costly patches later.

Aim for spring or early fall when daytime temps hover between 55°F and 80°F. Mild weather and consistent moisture help the roots knit quickly. Laying sod in midsummer can stress the grass, while frozen winter soil blocks rooting altogether.

If you must install outside the ideal window, budget extra time for watering and tending to the turf. Choosing the right season makes the job easier and the lawn tougher.
