"Patrick did a great job on our sidewalk. I got several different bids for the job, and Patrick's was most reasonable, along with the details and care he provided. He treated the project like his own, and did several other small things that were totally unexpected and so appreciated! He performed these small jobs to help everything function better, and then didn't even charge me for them. He stuck to his original bid as well, which was a relief. The sidewalk needed to be sealed about a month after the project was done. I was afraid it wouldn't happen in a timely manner, but it did! I called him to check up, and he was there later that week. I was more than impressed with the work done, the communication throughout the project, and the price. I would HIGHLY recommend Patrick and CPR Construction for your next project, and will be calling them for mine. Thank you for the excellent work!"

"Jim was the third plumber I had called to look at this job.  He was the only one to show up for the appointment.  He started out doing a great job.  He did not finish strong.  The quality of work at the end was disappointing.  WAY over priced."

"The plumber was knowledgeable, friendly and fast. He explained exactly what the problem was, why it happened and how his repair would prevent it from happening again. I asked if he recommended adding a shut-off valve for the outside water faucets, and he said he could if I wanted, but it really wasn't necessary."

"This is a honest plumber that knows his stuff . He is reasonable and doesn't over charge or try to build the time and expense. He is fast and doesn't waste time . He only charges for the time necessary to do work . We recommend him you will be happy with the results. This is the third time we have him do work and will use him again in the future. <br />"

"We had a problem with a slow floor drain.  Over a period of several days we attempted to identify and correct the problem.  We used a solution I found on the internet and commercial drain cleaners.  Drainage did improve but we were concerned that we needed to remove the buildup of corrosion in the drain so we contacted Valley Plumbing and Heating.  Since it wasn't an emergency a plumber came a few days later and spent several minutes inspecting the drain and it's ability to drain.  He felt it was satisfactory and no further intervention was necessary.  Didn't even charge a service call fee.  Very pleasant person.  Would call them again for future problems."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Hillsdale, WY

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
