"We hired Paint It Contracting to remove a wall between our living and dining rooms. They also replaced baseboards in our entire home, painted downstairs ceiling, and installed a vanity and toilet in our downstairs bathroom. Jerry and his team were delightful to work with. They went above and beyond every step of the way with our renovation. I would not hesitate to hire them again and they have my highest recommendation to anyone looking to hire a professional!"

"Corey did a very good job with our kitchen repair. Our general contractor hired him, and he's very conscientious about his work / craft. He uses a wet seam installation for the drywall, sort of like doing plaster, and that keeps him from sanding everything and really messing up the house. His painting was very high quality too. He takes his time, is meticulous, and you'll be happy with the finished product. We are."

"Just like many that were effected by Hurricane Matthew, we needed a new roof. I gave Angie's list a shot and found Affordable Roofing and Gutter Services. Corey Mitchell is a great person to work with. He doesn't waste your time. I asked for an estimate and he promptly prepared one for me. The estimated price was better than I had imagined. He explained all costs, options and types of materials . We opted for Architectural shingles because the upgrade cost was offset by the manufacturer's warranty. A reference list was provided with the estimate. I called a couple names on the list and the ones I spoke with recommended we use Affordable Roofing and Gutter Services. When we hired him, We signed a contract and work promptly began and was completed with the professionalism and quality as promised. Hire them. You'll be thankful you did."

"I have used Color Splash for two prior interior paint jobs. They were here again today to paint a master bedroom and office. The crew was on time, moved furniture, taped off baseboards, removed blinds/curtains and then replaced everything when done. As usual, Andrew and his employees were very efficient and professional. I highly recommend them."

"This company is amazing! We remodeled our kitchen. They ripped out the old appliances and countertops and then returned once the new countertops were installed to take care of all the electrical and plumbing work required for the installation of our new sink, cooktop and vent. They were punctual, professional, friendly and helpful. They showed up when they said they would and were ready to work. We are planning on using them for additional jobs. I would highly recommend them."

"I FOUND RH BUILDERS (RUSSELL HOLSENBACK) THROUGH ANGIE'S LIST.  THE FINAL COST WAS A BIT MORE THAN THE ESTIMATE BUT THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE WE DID NOT ORIGINALLY INCLUDE SOME JOBS SUCH AS REMOVING THE WALLPAPER, PAINTING THE WALLS, AND INSTALLING A NEW LIGHT FIXTURE.  RUSSELL AND HIS CREW  LAID DOWN COVERS OVER OUR CARPETING SO THERE WAS NO PROBLEM THERE.  ANY RESIDUE FROM TAKING THE OLD TILE UP WAS PROMPTLY VACUUMED UP.  RUSSELL DISCOVERED THAT THE TOILET WAS NOT SEATED CORRECTLY IN RELATION TO THE FLOOR AND HE CORRECTED THAT WHICH HE COULD HAVE IGNORED BUT DIDN'T.  IN ADDITION TO RE-SEATING OUR TOILET HE ALSO ELIMINATED A TRIP HAZARD AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE BATHROOM BY INSTALLING A NEW MARBLE SILL WHICH IS NOW EVEN WITH THE HALLWAY CARPETING RATHER THAN BEING 2 INCHES HIGHER.  ALL IN ALL THE WORK PERFORMED WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY BY RUSSELL AND HIS CREW.  AT SOME POINT WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A SIMILAR MAKE OVER OF OUR MAIN BATHROOM AND WE WOULD CERTAINLY ASK RUSSELL TO DO THE JOB."

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Hilton Head Island, SC

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
