"Builder Land did an amazing job with my project! I can't recommend them enough-very pleased with their work and the experience working with them! I have a small business that I wanted to add a shower and have the existing bathroom remodeled. From the beginning Edward took the time to hear all the details of the project and understand them, he also was very helpful with offering ideas when I was unsure of some of the design details. He has a good eye for excellence and didn't miss a detail. Edward and his crew were very professional, personable, respectful and cleanly. Within 48 hours of committing to the project he started the demo and it didn't stop until it was fully done in the projected time. 10/10 recommend going with Builder Land!"

Customers say: Quality work

"The service was excellent and the price was reasonable. I do appreciate the low pressure approach vs other estimates demanding and rude. I would definitely hire them again."

"Nate allowed me to order my bathtub myself, which was nice. Lowe's failing to deliver when promised, was not. This delayed the start, and although it did take longer than I expected, everything came out great. They did not charge me extra after the water damage was exposed, which was a relief. One of the other estimates I got from a general contractor was for 3x as much, AND they planned to add on after the wall was opened. The bathroom specialists wanted 150% of what we paid, and I think we ended up with better results."

"Before we initially hired Johnson & Sons, we were careful about due diligence and spoke to their references.  When we completed that first project, we were very pleased, so we echoed the earlier references and spoke about how well everything was handled.  When we had another small project, we went straight to Johnson & Sons, and again are very pleased with their work.  Vic is an excellent communicator and leaves no stone unturned, keeping us fully up to date with respect to scheduling.  Vic’s relationships with the subcontractors make the entire process seamless.  So if any of you have been frustrated by workers that are AWOL, or by unwelcome changes in scope, or by inferior results, go straight to Johnson & Sons to solve all those issues!"

"I found the leak in the attic and knew exactly where to find it. I had to let them go through my room ceiling after looking at where the burst was located. No way they could get to it any other way. Job done in an hour. Is $1k to expensive? When 1000's are experiencing the same issue? No you do what you need to do to come back online. I was happy with their business. They explained how to avoid this in the future."

"Five Star Bath Solutions are great. We had a tub with a shower and converted to a shower. They really did the work in one day. They did a very high quality job. We had a custom glass panel placed and it all is so functional and nice. I would not hesitate to recommend Five Star to anyone considering a bath remodel. "

"Vanderlip Construction brought our ideas and vision to a reality on a master and guest bathroom remodel in our 1961 rambler. Eric is both an organized contractor and an experienced craftsman. He is a thoughtful and very responsive communicator who we could always count on to perform the tasks he scheduled throughout our project. He brought in very skilled team of subcontractors who he made sure didn’t disrupt our home life and office work activities. Eric was generous with sharing his expertise and insights that helped us make decisions on key details. We had about an 80 percent design and selected all the tile, fixtures, and custom cabinets but Eric’s attention to detail brought it all together, especially on our counters and master bath shower. Always patient and friendly, he wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the progression and the outcomes. He’s also committed to backing up his work. I suffered a serious leg injury after the remodel and Eric kindly went the extra step to come to our house and install a new light fixture in our bedroom. He scored an A+ on both bathrooms and we made a new friend."

FAQs for bathtub installation and replacement projects in Hobart, WA

Most tubs last an average of 20 years, or closer to 10 to 15 if they’re acrylic or fiberglass. If you’re seeing persistent leaks, cracks, stubborn stains, or mold that won’t scrub away, it’s time to start shopping for a replacement. Out-of-date features and visible water damage are other red flags. Swapping the tub now protects your bathroom from bigger (and pricier) repairs down the road.

You should install your tub in a location that complements your bathroom's layout, plumbing connections, and personal preferences. Consider placing it near existing plumbing to minimize installation costs. Many homeowners position their tubs to take advantage of natural light or scenic outdoor views, enhancing relaxation.

Ensure there's sufficient space around the tub for easy access and safety, especially if accessibility is a concern. Ultimately, the ideal spot is where the tub fits seamlessly with your bathroom design and provides the most comfort and convenience for your needs.

Replacing a bathtub takes just one or two days if you hire a pro to handle the job. They'll remove the old tub and install the new one efficiently. If you're considering doing it yourself, be prepared for it to take much longer, possibly up to a month. That's because you'll need to remove the old tub and drywall, install the new tub, repair the walls, and maybe tackle new tiling. Weigh the time commitment against potential cost savings to decide what's best for you.

Converting your tub to a shower transforms your bathroom with a modern and accessible design. The average cost to convert a tub to a shower ranges from $2,000 to $10,500, based on the required plumbing, tiling, and structural modifications. This upgrade maximizes space while boosting functionality and aesthetics in your bathroom.
