"I found Universal through several searches for an elevator company. Kelly met with us immediately after making contact with the company. We wanted to install an elevator and the perfect location for this would require some modifications including removal of a stairwell and building out a storage area on the first and second floors. I gave Kelly our budget and he handled the entire process from start to finish. The project was completed on time and on budget. I will highly recommend this company/Kelly for your elevator needs. He was great to work with and kept us informed along the way. Thank you!"

"At the start of my looking to put a chair lift in my house, I decided to get at least 3 quotes. The first was a company called Acorn Stairlifts. The salesman was nice and not pushing. I thought the price was a little high. After checking reviews, I decided I would not use their product. I had 2 more quotes, one from A company called. Next Day and another from Elevators of Texas. The salesman from Next Day was ok and His price Was within reason. The other was elevators of Texas. They never came to the House and just sent me a quote, which was twice as high as the others. The last company that came to my House was Sunshine Mobility. The salesman's name was Mason Rogers. He presented his self very well. The product he presented to me was a brand name of Bruno. After seeing his price and checking out reviews on his company I called him back and had him install my chairlift. He came out his self and installed the chairlift his self. Everything was as he said and I'm very pleased with everything. He did a very professional job. He said that if there was ever a problem to just call him and he would take care of it. So, i waited, till later in the day and called him. He answered his phone. So he did as he said he would. That always means, a lot to me. I would recommend him and his company to anyone who needs his service."

"very compassionate, they work with the pricing, look for all options if there are not sufficient funds, they go beyond business and build personal relationships, still compassionate and show kindness even if they do not do business with you. I recommend them to everyone all the time."

FAQs for elevator installation and replacement projects in Houston, TX

With proper maintenance and regular professional inspections, a quality shaftless elevator can provide reliable service for many years. The system's longevity depends largely on usage patterns, maintenance frequency, and component quality.

Establishing a relationship with a qualified service provider and following the manufacturer's maintenance recommendations can significantly extend your elevator's functional lifespan and ensure continued safe operation.

Standard homeowners’ insurance policies may provide limited coverage for damage to elevator equipment caused by covered perils such as fire or severe weather, but often exclude mechanical failures or normal wear.

Before installation, contact your insurance provider to understand coverage limitations and determine whether you need additional protection. Most insurers require notification when adding an elevator to your home, and some may adjust your premium accordingly.

Residential elevator systems require dedicated electrical circuits with appropriate voltage to operate safely and reliably. The specific power requirements vary by manufacturer and model. Before installation, a qualified electrician should evaluate your home's electrical system to determine whether upgrades are necessary to support the elevator's operation, including any backup power systems that might be recommended for safety during outages.

Weight capacity varies by manufacturer and model, with most residential systems designed to accommodate one or two passengers safely. The elevator's documentation will specify maximum weight limits, which should never be exceeded for safety reasons.

If you need to transport heavier loads or accommodate mobility devices, discuss these requirements with your elevator provider to ensure you select an appropriately rated system.
