This task included painting the new lumber to match the existing lumber. The team even resurfaced the existing lumber to match the new. The corner edges of the lumber meeting together were well secured with proper lumber screws, and patched to a smooth seamless finish. "BEWARE OF COASTAL KITCHENS & BATHS! This review is for a complete remodel of our master bathroom that occurred in early 2024. This business has no BBB rating. This business has no employees. This business has no presence on Houzz, Angi.com, Home Advisor, Yelp or any place else online and no website. Everyone who works for John Bailey is a sub-contractor. His subs vary widely in quality. Some are good and some are not. His idiot painter tracked white paint all over our master bedroom carpet. When I complained to John about that he responded that we were going to replace the carpet anyway and so what! His sub-contractors had to access the bathroom by going through our master bedroom. THEY DIDN'T EVEN PUT DOWN DROP CLOTHs. When I complained to John about that he had them put down tarps that were so filthy that it made our floors even worse than before. When it came time to install the vanity countertop the supplier (Best Cheer Stone) delivered the wrong countertop and John didn't even notice! My wife caught the mistake. John pressured us into accepting the mistake by telling us there would be a 2-3 week delay in the project if we insisted on returning the countertop. He did get us a discount from the supplier but it’s still the wrong countertop. Recently I noticed that one of the bathroom floor tiles had cracked only 10 months after installation so I called John to see if he would replace it. He told me he would talk to his tile guy and get back to me. A week later still no response so I called him back. He clearly did not want to accept responsibility and told me that replacing the tile might damage other tiles. This is nonsense because I have had 3 tile contractors look at the job and none of them said anything about that. When I tried to get John to accept responsibility for the cracked tile he got mad and hung up on me! BEWARE OF COASTAL KITCHENS & BATHS! John Bailey is super sketchy and will blow smoke at you all day long to get your money. He does not guarantee the work and will leave you with a $600 extra charge for tile replacement. I have other complaints too but in the interest of brevity I will stop here."

"Excellent. My house is 70 years old & really needed to be updated. This was a scary process for me. I’ve never been able to afford to hire anyone to do any kind of remodeling & was scared of stories from family & friends who have been ripped off having any work done on their houses. I was really impressed with the ideas Dereck had for my bathrooms & especially for my kitchen which made no sense. He took me shopping to pick out materials & with his knowledge & expertise guided me with my choices for tile, flooring, fixtures, etc. I love all of the men who did the work. They know what they are doing & were really meticulous making sure that everything was done to perfection & they cleaned up after themselves everyday. This has been a very long process because of course they ran into problems with some of the plumbing & then had to repipe the house because there was no water pressure. Most sheds larger than six feet by eight feet require a foundation to remain level and dry. A compact tool shed might get by without one, but anything heavier should sit on at least a 4-inch-thick stone-and-gravel pad that extends two feet past the walls. The gravel protects wood skids and promotes drainage. If you want maximum stability—and your budget allows—a poured concrete slab is the strongest option.
Your ideal shed size hinges on purpose. A common 10-by-12-foot kit gives you 120 square feet—plenty for lawn tools and bikes. Need just a spot for a mower and a few rakes? A compact 4-by-7-foot model should work. If you’re envisioning a workshop or hobby room, look at 12-by-16 feet or larger.
A good rule is to raise the shed floor four to six inches above the surrounding soil. That clearance encourages water to drain away instead of pooling beneath the structure. The simple step is especially important for wood floors and skids, helping deter rot, mold, and insect damage while extending the life of your new outbuilding.
Choose the route that fits your goals. Prefab sheds arrive in standard layouts and go up fast—perfect for basic storage on a tight timeline. Custom builds cost more and take longer, but let you add windows, wiring, plumbing, and unique finishes. Balance budget, features, and timeframe before deciding which type of shed is best for your needs.
