I called Ultra Services and three other firms that were highly rated by rating services such as Angi, Google and Yelp to bid on the restoration project. The contrast between Ultra Services and the other three other firms was day and night. Ultra Services came out and took the time to take detailed notes on required work. Then they provided a detailed estimate that gave me a cost breakdown of all individual charges that I could compare to an insurance estimate. They were crystal clear about what was and was not included in their bid. As I learned more about what was needed, they cheerfully revised their estimate with the changes. Other firms simply gave me a final figure with almost no breakdown of costs, leaving me to wonder what specifics were actually included.
