"Ryan came to the house and pulled up the carpet, took out the old padding and left it to dry out a few days then replaced it with a comparable pad. Ryan and his team did a great job, were very professional and helpful with any questions we had. Thank you!"

"I can't say enough good things about Marc and his company. I bought a house in July but didn't move in right away. One day while at the house, I realized that the movers had not turned off the faucet to the washing machine when they moved the previous owner out. It had been dripping down into the wall and under the floor of the laundry room. The wall and floor had obvious water damage. At the same time, I found signs of water in the dining room wall and baseboard. I was concerned about  possible mold in both spots. I was referred to Marc and his company by my general contractor. From the beginning, Marc answered my phone calls promptly and was always on time for appointments. He thoroughly explained the process he would use to evaluate the problems and then fix them. His workers were very neat and always cleaned up after their work. Marc kept me informed throughout the process. If I had a question, he would call or text me an answer. I was extremely concerned about any mold in the house and Marc's reassuring, calm manner helped immensely. As part of the process, we had the duct work and furnace cleaned. After the duct cleaner left, my furnace quit working. It was the weekend when the temperature got down to 4degrees. I couldn't find the name of the contact at the duct cleaning company and it was after hours on a Friday night. I called Marc and he promptly called the duct cleaning company and arranged to have their on call HVAC person at my house that evening.
If I ever have problems with water, smoke, or mold, he will be the first person I call. I can't say enough good things about Marc Sutto and his company.

"It's about 2700 square feet all together of carpeting, wood flooring, and tile in the bathroom. They are always easy to schedule with. I have moved this appointment a couple of times. They show up when they are suppose to show up. They estimate very well as to how long they will be there. They give me an estimate upfront. They come in and measure all at once and stick to what their estimate is.

The carpet feels clean when they are done. It is damp and has to dry. When it dries, it doesn't feel like there is soap on it. I found them originally from an advertisement on the radio. I have used them for years and years. I shopped around and they did a really good job, so I stuck with them."

"dRuss, the owner of Five Star Floors, contacted us regarding the refinishing of our floors.  He is a kind and wonderful man who took the time to answer all of our questions and gave us a feeling of comfort with both him and his company.  Because of extensive travel on our part we had to reschedule a couple of times which he handle with great grace and patience.
The installers were a family . . . a dad and his two sons . . . they were awesome . . . they went out of their way to accommodate us in every way possible.  They moved all the furniture into the garage and back when the job was finished . . . they handled our furniture with extreme care!.  They sanded the floor with a minimum inconvenience due to dust . . . then finished the floor with three coats of poly.  Russ followed up to make sure we were satisfied and handled any touch-up that we required quickly.
The floor is gorgeous and we are immensely pleased!  We would recommend them to anyone and will certainly use them again.

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Idaho Springs, CO

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
