"Pricing and selection was very clear, we were looking at several window manufacturers they helped provide clear differences between the major brands and easy to understand pricing. We decided on two to get exactly what we wanted and Karoly was very helpful. Office was very easy to work with and always answered the phone with helpful answers to questions. Only issue we had was work was suppose to take 5 days and ended up dragging out more days over a couple weeks. But this was a huge job and expected some hiccups. The windows needed no paint inside or out with great finishing. Workers courteous and clean."

"We contracted DreamWork Aluminum to remove, then design, build and install a new lanai enclosure with picture window and no chair rails. Kevin came out to measure and discuss our options and then the team consisting of Dave the Lead, Tyler and Saul came last week to install the new enclosure. The quality and strength of the new structure is outstanding as was the team who installed it. They did an absolutely wonderful job and left our property exceptionally clean. Should we need any screen or aluminum work in the future DreamWork Aluminum is the only company we would call. We highly recommend them for their professionalism, quality, price point and workmanship."

"<p>Unfortunately, I have to update my original review due to some issues with the product after the first large rainstorm.  I contacted D and D immediately after the first rain to advise them the patio was leaking where the aluminum roof connected to the house. They did send someone out quickly, and they sealed the connection.  After the next rain the problem still existed.  Again, I contacted them immediately.  They sent another guy out during a rainstorm and he witnessed first hand the leaking patio.  They could not make a repair that day due to the weather, so they came back another day and again tried to fix the problem.  No such luck.  I continued to call them after each rainstorm because the patio continued to leak. I was told they were tired of sending men out.   After about 6 months of no results and my frustration, I asked for my money back and for D and D to remove the structure since they could not seem to fix the problem.  Cary, the owner, told me it was my roof leaking and not his screen patio installation.  He said he was sure it was my roof so if I could prove it wasn't my roof then he would address returning my money and removing the structure.  I called my roofer for an inspection,  since my roof is fairly new and still under warranty.   My roofer said it was their installation causing the issues.  My shingles were air tight and secure.  I sent Cary pictures my roofer took and the invoice.  He did pay my roofer for the inspection but still did not think it was D and D's problem.  He insisted that he needed to send his own roofer.  I again took additional time off to accommodate this appointment.  The roofer he sent out also said the issue was caused by the way the work to re-install the enclosure panels was done. D&D's roofer (the one they had chosen to inspect their work) informed us D&D had broken the seal by prying out the metal strip when replacing the fascia and that was causing the leakage every time it rained.  In response to this, Cary said he would pay for the proper repairs to be done to eliminate the leak. On the day before all this was finally scheduled, Cary told us he would not authorize payment for the repairs without his foreman being there witnessing what work was required to stop the leaks. While I can understand why Cary would want his foreman to see first hand what work was going to be done, it was somewhat disconcerting to find this out late in the afternoon the day before my roofer was scheduled to show up and start the work.  With this new twist, I had to miss another two hours of work as I needed to be at the house when the two contractors showed up to determine if Cary was going to be liable for the repairs.  Understand, these repairs required by the roofer were estimated to cost $1800 and I did not want any more issues with who was going to pay for the botched installation. On a positive note for D&D, the foreman had pointed out three or four areas wherein the install was done improperly and going forward, they received some very good advice .Cary did finally agree to pay my roofer to do the repairs that were needed after his (Cary's) foreman called Cary from my house (the job site) after meeting with my roofer and being shown exactly what D&D had done incorrectly on their install that was the root of the problem.</p> <p>Thru all this, it was very disappointing to me that Cary never stepped foot on my property to check the quality of his crew but instead continued to say the leaks were due to my roof being faulty.  When I suggested Cary come by and meet with us, the idea was rejected. He was not very nice and he was accusatory.  There was constant communication with Monica at D and D and she relayed all my messages and emails to Cary.  I was very patient, it took over 6 months and numerous repair efforts along with being told it was my roof and I needed to prove it wasn't.  Please note that from day 1 the patio/screen enclosure looked great!  The issue only was noticed after the first rainstorm and continued each and every time it rained.  It took<strong> 6</strong> months to get this issue resolved.    </p> <p>The initial install was "finished" the day before Easter, but it took until the first week in December, countless phone calls, many, many hours of missed work and an enormous amount of stress and frustration, but it is finally done,</p>"

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"2020 has passed and we couldn't be happier with our completed first floor project, thanks to Jim Rutherford Construction. Jim was willing to tackle what other local well known contractors were either unwilling to consider or bid so high as to be unaffordable. Our project proved to be a technical challenge from the onset, raise the ground floor by almost a foot of concrete, completely rebuild the first floor by installing 3 impact French doors, 3 impact doors and 4 impact windows, cut off support an internal staircase including modifying framing around a dumbwaiter, reframe and replace every exterior wall from 4' down. Plus an added surprise rebuilding and repairing 45' of a heavily spalled concrete tie-beam in less than a week. We're still amazed at how quickly and confidently Jim set about taking on the project, he seemed to have it figured out before we even committed to getting started. He knew just right carpenters and subs to assign the work to. Once they began, they never stopped till the project was completed. Workmanship was outstanding, inspections were a breeze. I commend Jim and his crew for the quality of work and attention to detail, no shortcuts taken, stainless hardware/fasteners throughout and only pressure treated lumber. Add them all up and we have a completely new remodeled permitted downstairs ready to withstand the elements. It is without hesitation we'd recommend Jim Rutherford Construction for any project or home construction. Professional, polite and a pleasure to do business with."

"GOOD: Initial contact with Jonathan sold us on this company above others that gave less expensive estimates. Jonathan was professional, knowledgeable, and spoke very highly of the company and its owner (Danny). Jonathan said he would call when permit was approved and approximate date for commencement of the work. He told us it might take 2 days due to the tear-down but a temporary barrier would be placed around the pool as a preventative measure rather than leave the pool area open. <br /> POOR: Workers showed up a week later and unloaded the truck without initiating contact with us. We called the company, spoke to Brenda who said Jonathan no longer worked there but workers should not have come out since the permit had not yet been approved. Workers came back and re-loaded their truck. Brenda said permit would likely be approved by the following Friday and if job could not be completed in one day, workers would return on Saturday to finish. Permit went through the following Wed, but we still did not hear from the company. We called and Brenda said work would begin on Friday. Three workers showed up at 10 a.m. on Friday, completed the tear-down by 12:45 and were packing up to leave, stating they'd return on Monday since they didn't work on Saturdays. We placed a call to Brenda, but she was not available. Spoke to Kayla who, after checking with a supervisor, said workers were not leaving, just hauling away, and there was no reason they shouldn't complete the job by the end of the day (Friday). Workers returned and worked until 2 p.m., then left without telling us and the pool area completely open with equipment and materials laying around. At 4 pm, workers still had not returned, so another call was placed and we were told they were on the schedule for 7:30 Saturday morning, but no contact name or number was provided to us in the event the workers did not show, or left half-day as they did on Friday. I drove to the office in Ft. Myers and met face-to-face with a supervisor and was provided a contact name and number if any problems occurred on Saturday since the office is closed on weekends. <br /> GOOD: Two workers showed up on Saturday and worked 11 hours to make up for their early departure on Friday, and complete the installation. We noted a problem with a crooked beam and brought it to their attention, which they said would be straight upon completion. Problem remained so workers returned the following day (Palm Sunday) to fix it. The following week, we noted a small gutter leak and another crooked beam. Service call was placed. Chuck came out a week after that and said a technician would be back to fix the issues by the end of the week. Two days later, the same three workers (who had only worked 10-2 on the first day of the job) showed up and fixed everything to satisfaction thus far. We are currently awaiting inspection by the City. <br /> POOR: Nobody from FabriTech ever initiated contact with us or attempted to check to see if things were done to our satisfaction. The only contact with the company throughout this whole process had to be initiated by us. There seems to be poor communication between the field workers, office staff, and supervisors. Definite disconnect with customers, and misinformation given, resulting in much confusion. <br /> GOOD: After problems were finally corrected, the final project appears to be of excellent quality (so far). <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Immokalee, FL

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
