"Chevy Chase Remodeling did an exterior renovation for us, including replacing our roof and siding, painting our house, replacing a window, and adding a new screened-in porch and patio in our backyard. They took care of the design work as well as arranging all the subcontracting to perform the construction work. The owner, Steven, and all the subcontractors were friendly, easy to work with, and professional. "I sought out three bids from highly rated Angie's list roofing companies. I eliminated one company that would not provide an estimate unless they could present it in person with my wife present (code for high-pressure sales). The second company was great, but did not get their bid to me until almost a week after they promised it. By comparison, Joe Makay got right back to me on first contact and every time I had a question. He was able to work my project into the schedule within a week and got got the entire large and complex job done in just two days. The end result was outstanding and well worth the price. I only rated their price as a B because their cost was somewhat higher than the other (larger) company that bid; however I went with Mckay because they were more responsive and customer service focused. I felt confident they would take good care of me and they did just that."

"Vince from V&C was a pleasure to work with from start to finish.  I would highly recommend him to anyone, and I will be recommending him to my parents and friends who need gutter cleaning and repair work done.  He was honest and upfront about everything during our first phone call, and from his other great reviews on Angie's List, I was confident that he would do a great job.  He gave us a rough estimate of the cost of the work we needed over the phone, as he wasn't able to do an on-site estimate (which I totally understood).  With the cost of gas and travel being what it is, I don't blame him!  Not only that, but he is very busy with other gutter jobs, so he took a description of our house and gutters over the phone, and gave me a pretty solid estimate without having to actually come out here first.  Works for me!
My initial call set up a job appointment about 2 weeks out.  I felt that if he is that busy, then he must be pretty good!! (and worth a little wait) He confirmed the appointment a couple of days before, and also called and texted me when he was on his way that morning.  I appreciate the great communication!  
Vince and his assistant completed the work in about 1.5 hours.  They cleaned all the gutters, spray-jetted the downspouts that needed to be flushed, and also cleaned off the siding on the house in the areas that they worked on.  Vince re-attached the front gutter and replaced some old bent gutter nails with new screws and brackets.  He re-pitched angle slope on the rear gutter, and spray cleaned that one as well.  He removed one section of downspout in the rear and removed a pretty bad clog.  While Vince was on the roof, he pointed out some exposed nails and other roof issues for me, which was very nice of him!  With his leaf blower he used to blow out the gutters, he even offered to blow some leaves off of our patio!  After the work was completed, he even wiped down our porch and spray cleaned our sidewalks and front porch to clean up after the job!  Quick, clean, and professional!  
We are having V&C come back in the spring to install an additional downspout in the front and rear of our house, as we only have 1 per side, and the house is a bit wide for just 1.  They'll also be replacing the last remaining old gutter in the front with a new one (with screw-mounted hidden hangers instead of nails). Vince took measurements while he was here, and we are going to schedule the work soon.   I watched all the work happen, and Vince explained everything he was doing as he went along.  They worked quickly and cleaned up like  they were never here!  Vince gave us a fair price on the entire job, and even offered to give us a deal on yearly gutter cleaning if he comes back next year.

"I had a leak in my roof.  One estimate was $22,000 and they wanted to do my windows which were not a problem.  Another estimate was for $5,000 with no guarantee.  K&R came over, diagnosed the problem to be flashing that had become lose, and fixed it in less than a half hour.  They also looked at the roof and told me it would last at least 5 more years, possibly more, I am now in my sixth year.  They also explained some new type roofs that were coming out that could possibly also convert light into electricity and later e-mailed my information on those roofs, but not a sales pitch.  Their price was so low I actually argued to pay more.  Will I use them again, d*** right.  And I will tell anyone who needs a roof or roof repair about them.
