"The entire team at National HomeCraft earned 5 star rating starting with Kathy who responded right away on scheduling someone to come to our home for the free consultation. Followed then by Jeff Beback the representative who explained each step of the process to renovate our 30 year old shower. Demolition and then reconstruction with a beautiful acrylic shower was seamless with the work crew Scott and Brandon. They were punctual, hard working and very skilled at removing the old shower and installing the new. And we saved thousands going with National HomeCraft versus our first quote!! "One of four proposals received, highly recommended on Angie's list, went to offices in Tampa, checked licenses etc. to insure a legitimate business with longevity and stability. The permit process and inspections of Pinellas  county provide additional checks that work is performed to code.  The project and CONTRACT specified approximately 4 month effort. Delay in starting and throughout the project. Contract signed in May 2013, Certificate of Occupancy was issued in February 2014 with a non functioning sliding door that did not allow us to lock and secure the house for months. Installation of the door was  in Sept. 2013, screen to the door still not installed and still unable to lock and unlock the door without assistance, i.e. pliers or needle nose pliers.

Significant delay in installing roofing tiles, question of the color not matching, so no action taken for over a month, after tiles were delivered on driveway and many placed, not installed, on the roof.

Project Manager was not present at the work site more than an hour once a week, then not at all.  He did answer his cell phone in the beginning then stopped responding and we call others at the office for resolution.

A subcontractor knocked on our door in February, 2014 requesting payment of a bill to Alexander for services finished in Oct. 2013. Also learned of another subcontractor who had not been paid. HVAC and Plumbing. 

Our contract was specific and taylored to the job--highly recommend.  Cannot imagine the outcome if homeowners were not on site every day and had not had considerable experience with residential construction. We do think that we received value for our costs but would not anticipate this level of involvement, scrutinity, and supervision. Recognize that things will go wrong--it is how they are addressed when they do. Alexander Inc was at first responsive to problems, then there were long lapses in time before they would address large or small issues. We feel fortunate that this occurred toward the end of the 8 month project that was expected to start in June 2013 but did not start until August and is still not concluded.

"The provider was very knowledgeable and very patient. Since my wife and I are very visual people, Brent made sure that all our concerns were addressed. I also appreciated the fact that Brent took the time to explain the remolding process in simple and understandable terms.  Anytime we had a question concerning kitchen design or materials, he would set up an appointment to explain the pros and cons concerning our question. Brent answers to our questions were always centered on making sure we were informed and satisfied customers. Since my kitchen was destroyed due to water damage, the provider took the time to explain what needed to be addressed before the cabinets were installed.  if any problems arose during the remolding process i,e electrical, sheet rock installation or pluming, these issues were addressed in a timely and efficient manner.  Customer service after the kitchen was completed was Outstanding! Brent conducted a walk through and he noticed a stain on a cabinet door. The cabinet door was replaced and conducted another walk through to make sure we were satisfied. My kitchen was once a "Nightmare" but after Brent and his crew completed the project, I now have a kitchen to die for.

"We contacted them & spoke to Katie & Doug (owners) to schedule an appointment to share our vision, review our project and visit their showroom during our next visit to FL in 1 week. We only had 1 day (Saturday) for both & they accommodated us. First we met with Doug to review the project and our goals. This was followed by a visit to their showroom (complete with nice selection of materials) to consult with Katie. Both listened to our needs & after spending the day with them we immediately had confidence in their business, skill, & experience. Having been through several remodels previously, this was the very first time we found a perfect fit the first time around. We walked out of their showroom with a contract in hand, materials selected & a targeted start date for our project. With the first major milestone behind house, we had only one concern. Being a coast away, we were wary how to ensure our project was being executed to plan, both in quality and efficiency. In retrospect, we are pleased to inform you this was never an issue. The demolition phase was as expected. Katie & Doug remained in constant communication throughout the process; Skyping & photosharing & highlighting any issues and working together with us to find acceptable solutions. Overall there were no major issues, rather the typical findings of renovating a space more than 30 years old. Our project scope was a complete redo from the ground up. Next phase was the installation, everything from new plumbing, flooring (porcelain tile), shower (porcelain tile/quartz), wood cabinetry, quartz countertops, eletrical/lighting (canned lighting, light fixtures, and lit medicine cabinets), etc. The installation is where the attention to detail matters most. We were absolutely impressed with their meticulous workmanship & strong attention to detail throughout the remodel. As the project completed, Katie & Doug performed a quality control check of their work to ensure it met their high standards & our expectations as the customer. We did a walk through together to ensure nothing was missed. All punch list items (all minor) where promptly addressed to our extreme satisfaction. Being able to complete a major renovation on time & to budget & remotely is a huge achievement. Thank you Custom Design Kitchen & Bath, Doug, Katie, & Crew! We love our new home!
