"This was a very involved plaster repair and remediation job, in a very old house. Grady is the only person (or company) who was willing to take on the job and drive all the way from Pennsylvania to our home in Northern Virginia. There are very few people who do this kind of work anymore (we really searched) and he is an expert in his field. We needed to work around his schedule, because he is in demand in the tri-state area, so it took awhile to schedule the work to begin... but it was worth it."

"Estimate visit resulted in the required type of repair being something this company does not do. However, the repair was explained to us and it is something we can do ourselves. This after several other estimates ranged in types of solutions and prices from $1500 to $6000. The do it ourselves method will be less than $300. I appreciate honesty in a provider. Also their prompt response for estimate and showing up on schedule. Will hire for sure if we ever need the type of work that B-Sure Systems does."

"Mr. Beach removed my deck and stained glass window and carefully placed the materials in the backyard. He provided a place for my dogs to step out on the deck by hammering in a piece of plywood. When the deck was cleared he hired subcontractors to remove the foundation material that was separated from the house. He poured a footer. Mr.Beach returned and completed the foundation work and then replaced the deck and the stained glass, which was in the same condition of the original. His subcontractor returned and fixed the ruts in my neighbor's lawn by reseeding and using mulch."

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house.  My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats.  They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house.  Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough.  It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway.  It seemed really fast to me.  The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano.  We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed. <br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors.  Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation. <br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house.  They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down.  A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots.  We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement.  We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation.  While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house.  The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision.  Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared.  Great job guys. <br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements.  We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement.  We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013.  It's been a long process, but well worth it.  Made possible by Expert House Movers! <br />"

"Very good came out for the estimate week later sent me my estimate. Came out the day he said he would start and stayed on the job touch base with us each day and was very polite. Cleaned up after each day of work. Work was done I belive to quick. There was some cosmetic things that was left that were over looked and that were left for me to take care of but can be fixed. Over all the roof is done and I hope to have no leaks for a good while to come. <br />"

"Dave and his crew did a fantastic job. They were here promptly every morning and went right to work in a very efficient manner. <br /> Dave found a few bad places in the plywood and replaced them at no additional cost.  They cleaned up the stray shingle pieces and debris around the house before departing every day.  We couldn't be happier with the whole experience.  We will definitely call on Dave and his crew again!"

FAQs for concrete foundation repair projects in Ithaca, NY

Visible cracks, water leaks, uneven floors, or walls that won’t line up are classic red flags. You might also notice sticking windows, doors that no longer latch, or exterior cracks crawling up brick or siding. Even a damp, musty basement can hint at trouble. If you spot any of these, call a foundation pro right away. Early inspections cost far less than waiting until the damage threatens your home’s stability.

Yes, foundation problems impact your home’s value. Buyers want proof that the foundation is stable, and a recent, professional repair can actually boost confidence in your home. You’ll need to disclose the work, but documentation showing the structure was properly stabilized, especially with piers in regions known for shifting soil, often reads as a plus, not a problem. Skipping repairs, on the other hand, can cut your sale price and shrink the pool of interested buyers. Taking care of the issue protects both value and peace of mind.

Foundations are engineered for exceptional longevity when constructed correctly and maintained diligently. Concrete slab foundations remain structurally sound for 200 years, while other foundation types deliver integrity between 75 and 100 years. Regular professional inspections and timely maintenance further secure a foundation’s lifespan and ensure your home stays safe over the long term.
