"We've got a 120-year old house in Lakeview.  We were looking for someone to re-do the kitchen and adjoining bath, and to add a bathroom upstairs.  A big project.  I found Ned on Angies List, and he he came out to give us a quote.  He convinced us that the project was too big to do without having an architect prepare drawings first.  That turned out to be excellent advice.  So we hired an architect to do the drawings.

Ned came out a second time to give a quote.  He took his time and looked everything over carefully.  Then he came back again with the project manager, and they went over it again even more carefully.  I was very impressed.  They even climbed through the tiny opening into the attic to check out the roof and trusses.  We eventually got the quote, and it was quite comprehensive. Unfortunately, it was about $25,000 more than another quote we had received, and about $65,000 more than a third quote.  (FYI, we ended up going with the middle quote.)  I asked Ned about that, and he felt that his quote was fair and reasonable.  Given the big difference between Ned and the next highest quote, we elected not to use him.  But, apart from the price he quoted, I was super impressed with Ned.  He was knowledgable, personable, prompt and responsive, and it appears that they do absolutely do quality work.  I would certainly consider using Ned again in the future.  "
