"The job was fairly straightforward and I had already procured the sink and most of the additional supplies but the job required some replumbing of both the water supply and drain. The master plumber worked efficiently and professionally and the job was completed in a few hours. The cost was determined from a standard table in a notebook but does not take into account the complexity of the job or whether materials are supplied by owner. Since I supplied most of the materials (plumber supplied valves and pipe and drain fittings) the price seemed rather high for around 3 hours work. "They were extremely responsive and professional. Someone was dispatched to my home within 24 hours. He accurately diagnosed the problem - that the condensate pump had failed and needed to be replaced. He offered to replace it immediately because he had the part on his truck. The price quote ranged from $1350-$2100 depending on length of warranty I preferred. This seemed extremely high because I had the part replaced once before 3-4 years ago by another company for approx $400. I mentioned that to the installer; he indicated that the price was the price and he was sorry he couldn’t lower it. I found the identical pump online for prices ranging from $35-$75! It looked like an easy swap, so instead of paying Rodenhiser, I ordered the part from Amazon, received it the next day. I have zero experience or training and was able to swap it and fix the problem in literally 10 minutes. I understand that service companies need to charge for labor and mark up parts costs, but a repair I could do in 10 mins for under $50 should not have carried a $1350+ price tag! This was very disappointing, and I will not use them again."

"I am so lucky to have found Jim. My rented-out property developed a leak from a worn out drain in the upstairs bathtub that damaged the ceiling of the dining room below. Jim got there promptly and provided invaluable advice in obtaining a separate construction contractor (to repair the ceiling) and working with the insurer and adjuster to ensure that all parties were in agreement with the work that was needed and the costs that would be incurred. He was patient with the insurance company and then completed the work perfectly, timely, and safely so that the Tenant was able to remain in the residence at all times. Jim had to deal with various job difficulties such as one occasioned by the fact that the tub was about 60 years old and therefore its replacement necessitated installation of a different size tub (they don't make tubs in the old size anymore) and re-setting of pipes to enable the new tub to work."
