" I hired JF Asphalt (Juan Peron) to dig out roots and patch my asphalt driveway, crack fill and seal coat my whole driveway. They did the job in two days and I highly recommend them. Excellent quality work at a fair price. And Juan is great at communications. The driveway looks great and I would definitely hire them again!"

"Work started and ended as schedule (3 days). Very responsive to specific problems. Price paid was exactly as estimated. Condition of road was very poor, cracked, disintegrating, sinking in some places. Extensive prep work required including expanding existing turn-around circle, tar and chip prior to 2" asphalt. All problems resolved. Jim and team worked very well together. In my view, outcome was excellent! Intersection with existing driveways was done extremely well. Price was significantly better than other large company estimate."

"The Kapusnik brothers did an awesome job grading and paving my driveway. Their quote was WAY less then a couple other contractors endorsed by Angie’s list that I got estimates from and almost 1/3 of what Blalock quoted me. They were able to come do the work about a week after signing the contract and that was partially due to poor weather. Some of the other contractors were saying it would be several months before they could start the work. Jonathan and Jason are stand up guys and a pleasure to work with! I’ll definitely be calling these guys when I need more asphalt work done."

"<p>My house has never had a driveway of any kind as long as I've owned it (20 years).  My neighbors DO have an old asphalt driveway, on my side of the house,  which encroached on my property by a few feet where the driveway meets the street.  My neighbors were going to sell their house, and the boundary encroachment became a problem for my neighbors and any potential buyer.    To resolve any boundary issues that might arise in the sale, I decided to install an asphalt driveway next to my neighbor's driveway, which would allow each side to have their own driveway and would resolve the encroachment issue.  My neighbors thought this was a good idea and wanted to collaborate on the problem, and I  called Chris, the owner of this company, to come out and do a quote.  He came promptly within a day or two of when I first called.  </p> <p> I originally thought my neighbors were going to repave their driveway,  but they later decided just to seal it instead.</p> <p>Chris was very very good at working with us on the property line issue,  and explaining how having the two driveways next to each other would work, and was very thorough in explaining any drainage issues and how to avoid water problems as much as possible.  </p> <p>He came to perform the work within a few weeks of when we hired him. He had to wait until the weather was suitable for asphalt paving but gave me a few days' notice that he would be ready to start.    He took down my shrubs that had to be removed to install the driveway (for an extra price, of course, which was reasonable), and did an excellent job on installing the asphalt driveway. </p> <p>My neighbors were also very pleased with the work he did on sealing their existing asphalt driveway.   </p> <p>Chris  either answers the phone when you call, or returns your call promptly if you leave a message.  He keeps you informed of all developments and goes above and beyond to be prompt, courteous and reasonable. He explains everything he's doing and is an excellent trouble-shooter.  I would highly recommend this company for installation of an asphalt driveway.  </p>"

"Carolina Solutions returned my call promptly and showed up on time for the estimate appt. It turned out they don’t install the support piers needed to fix the sagging floor in our master bedroom. They recommended someone to do the repair and we are in the process of having that done."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Greensboro, NC

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
