"Michael and his team did a nice job installing this huge window unit in my kitchen. He was helpful in the design and selection of brand as well. I would hire them again."

"Mike has a meticulous work ethic. Willing to consider any job, big or small. He explains what needs to be done and then he follows through on what he says. He gives an estimate of each project and sticks to it. He is a talented craftsman and was able to repair many things including roof repair, weather stripping, painting, CO2 detector install, replacing custom cut moulding, lock repair, replacement of door sweeps, and he replaced the fence post caps that the squirrels had destroyed as well as other things I could never get anyone to help me with. He made appointment times and always showed up! He is a gem. I highly recommend him."

"we all know that it is easy to give a good rating to a company whose services or installation goes perfectly. The real test is when something goes a little sideways. When Charles started removing our old sliding door, he discovered some issues that would require more time & attention. He dealt with that just fine. Then, when he started installing the new one, he had it sitting in there the opposite way: sliding open on the other side. We have a small house, and there was only one way that it could possibly open for us. After reviewing the info that came with he door, and finding the online YouTube video that showed how to 'flip' the door around to open on the other side, he was able to reinstall to match the way we wanted it to open. When the job was done, the new sliding door was installed beautifully, it was trimmed out and dried in just as it should be, and we are very happy with the final product. Charles charged a fair price and was able to complete the job within the time allotted. we will be talking to Charles about some other projects around the house."

"Erick and his team did a great job on our home. Attention to detail is how I would describe their work. They took their time and did it right and for a reasonable price. We will definitely use them again."

"Two other Handyman companies had attempted and failed to repair my folding closet doors, but the Mr. Handyman professional did an excellent job and the repairs, while not aesthetically pleasing, are well done."

"Highly recommend Andrew - best contractor I have had work on my home. Andrew's work is above expectation. Great work ethic, reliable, honest and wide range skillset. Andrew is very professional and very detailed. He has worked on remodeling my kitchen/downstairs powder room and has been thorough in the work. From installing the tile flooring, plumbing for the kitchen sink, bathroom sink and new shut-off valves for both, backsplash installation, electrical outlets and lighting, etc. He worked with the countertop installers to ensure proper installation, suggesting for my bathroom to add 1/2" to countertop so no issues with the new sink and faucet. He communicated with me daily on any issues or fixes, e.g. pointed out details that were fixed during the upgrade. Every night he would ensure the areas were cleaned and swept - nice to have someone who respects your home. I already have started a list of "to do" projects knowing he can be trusted and do a detailed job!!"

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Johns Creek, GA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
