"<p>The estimate was done quickly and for a great price. The work was done when Tom said it would be done and the quality of the work was excellent. They came and sealed the driveway and turnout today. Once again excellent work done when Tom said he would do it.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>I would recommend the services of A-1 paving to anyone needing driveway work done.</p> <br />"

"Mr. Sipe came over in the summer of 2016 and gave me an estimate. I couldn't hire then due to other projects being done. I called in June 2017 and scheduled it for July 2017. The quoted price was the same. The two workmen showed up as scheduled and went right to work. They worked a good two hours and did a great job. I even told them they were Blacktop Sealing Artists. I gave them a tip. I am very pleased with the job. It just makes my place look so new!"

"I had a pole barn built and needed my driveway widened. I had one guy come out and want to top coat my old driveway and then widen the new part. As always I had several estimates done. At first I was worried because I called the answering company twice and never received a call. I sent a message via Angie's List and Jim Jr. replied immediately to the message. He then called and was at my house within an hour to perform the estimate. He explained that the top coating way was impossible and that any rain water would run in my house. He explained the need to remove my old driveway, let the base dry out, re-excavate the whole thing, and then pave it all. His price was obviously a little higher than the "other guy" but everything he said made sense and because I had a beautiful pole barn built my theory is this. If I am going to do it I am doing it right...and I must say choosing Jim's Paving I did it right. Even the edges of the driveway look fantastic. The crew arrived right around 8am and went right to work and I would say by around noon a 4000 sq ft. area was paved. They were very neat and cleaned up everything."

"the first 2/3 of the driveway looked good but he bottom third looked terrible, there were brush marks and brush debri mixed in with the asphalt and even a footprint. We emailed them to ask them to come look at it to tell us if this was there usual standard of work and never got a return email or a visit. We had heard good things from a neighbor and his driveway came out very nicely. If fact, we passed on a cheaper place who did the other neighbors driveway because we thought Parvin seemed more reputable. I now have the bill in front of me and it is so hard to pay it for the low quality result we received. UPDATE: Parvin Paving came out to re-do our driveway after receiving a letter of complaint from me so I have updated my rating to reflect the fact that the second paving job was much improved! I guess everyone has a bad day. <br />"

"We have a 17 x 70 foot asphalt driveway that had been paved about 10 years ago and needed to be seal coated. They gave us a four hour time span when they expected to be here and arrived within that time period. They were very professional about their work and did an excellent job. I was concerned about getting the coating on the house walls or garage floor and curb. They used a four inch brush to cut in and kept the coating material off of unwanted surfaces. Upon arrival the two men immediately began removing the dirt and grass from the sides of the driveway to allow them to apply the coating to the sides of the asphalt, which they told me was the most important part of sealing the asphalt. After they removed the grass and dirt from the edges of the driveway they used a wire bursh and blower to clean all of the debris off of the driveway. They filled in several cracks in the asphalt and even filled in a small hole put in the asphalt by a previous contractor's trailer with a small amount of asphalt. They then proceeded to cut in the edges with a four inch brush. They finished by using a four foot brush to smooth out the coating over the rest of the driveway, starting at the house and working out to the street. When they were about halfway down the driveway a bird flew over and dropped its business on the fresh seal coating near the house. They came back and added more coating over the droppings so they wouldn't show. Our driveway looks great. I am really pleased with their work and would recommend them to anyone who needs to have their driveway coated. I will definitely have them back when my driveway needs recoating."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Jonestown, PA

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
