"The individual that did the consult was very knowledgeable and helpful. The work took 8 days. I would highly recommend just buying new cabinets. The mess after the sanding and install was more than I expected. Some of the cabinets were left with debris and a considerable amount of dust in them, the shelves were not sanded on the ends where they were cut, leaving splinters and the sawdust was in the stove, dishwasher, cabinets that were covered and in the adjoining room. The craftsmanship turned out nice but noticeable that the edges were resurfaced. Itâ s hard to resurface cabinets that are old. The new doors cover the refacing. I feel the pricing is way to high for this type of project."

Express Wood Cabinetry was hired to remove worn 50 year-old kitchen cabinets and construct replacement upper and
lower cabinets.  At the first appointment, Brian arrived on time, discussed a myriad of options, took measurements, and assured us that we would have an estimate in a few days. Brian was a good listener and well groomed.  It was clear that he was passionate about cabinetry and well versed in his field.


Within two days, we had estimates for a couple of types of wood and designs that we were considering.  Brian helped guide our
decisions on designs by offering opinions and perspectives that we had not thought of. Brian was extremely helpful in offering creative suggestions and insightful perspectives regarding design, practicality/durability of different wood types. The pricing seemed reasonable, and a completion date agreed upon.  Our first payment covered only the cost for the wood to make the cabinets.  The cabinets were built at Brian?s shop about 2 ½ hours away and all of them fit perfectly..


When our move in date was changed, our request for accelerated delivery and installation was met with a willingness to comply.  We appreciated Brian?s flexibility and good attitude.

When we saw the completed bottom cabinets, we were delighted.  Brian installed those after the new flooring was put in and before the granite installers were scheduled.   The next week all the upper cabinetswere installed, and in addition, Brian designed the light fixtures in a cabinet above the kitchen sink, which had not been in the original plans.

Brian is a true professional.  His attention to detail was inspiring.
We are convinced that we could not have found better workmanship with anyone else.

At a later date, we had Brian come back to built cabinets for our bathrooms, as well.

"We chose Kirk because of his excellent reviews on Angie's List, and because of his response to a less than perfect review as well.  His passion for getting the work done to please the customer convinced us to have him bid on our project.
Kirk came on time and listened to what we thought we wanted, and submitted a plan to scale.  At that point we realized we had been a bit over ambitious, and we asked him to scale down our plans.  He did so and resubmitted the  plan and estimate in a very timely manner.  We were very pleased with the plan and the price and gave him the go ahead.
He accurately estimated the time it would take to do the project.  When he was part way through he called and we went to see the cabinets and see the stain samples he had made for our job.  We loved what we saw.   The stain was perfect.
He finished the project well within the time he estimated and installed the cabinets paying close attention to detail.  They are beautiful!  They are even better than we imagined and suit their purpose exactly.  These custom cabinets make the whole room look complete.  I smile every time I walk by them.
We will definitely use Kirk again.  His craftsmanship is top notch and he is all about pleasing the customer.  He is also very reliable about calling to let us know about his progress and showing up on time.  We have found that getting all of those qualities in the construction industry is really quite rare.

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."
