"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"I highly recommend Kaalaea Construction! We have contracted them on 4 construction projects. They built a deck extension which was perfect! Then two en-suite room additions and remodeled our master bathroom. Ray is a gentleman! His crew are so respectful and a pleasure to have around. The standard of work, craftsmanship and attention to detail are second to non."

"Excellent! Mr. Cole Salera is an exceptional craftsman. We wanted the extension to the existing lanai to mirror the look and all the small details of the existing lanai. He did it better than we would have imagined. I cannot stress strongly enough Mr. Salera's overriding professionalism and desire to give us what we wanted. On time and on budget. <br />"

"The project was slated to take about 2 weeks but because of contract creep and a broken truck, it took 3 weeks.  They never complained about the little extra projects we asked them to do.  And all work was done very well.  <br />"

"The long steel beam is very heavy to lift up and pushed up against the existing deflected wood beam. He also had to tied steel and wood beams together. It's a difficult job, but he did it in the timely manner. He also kept the job site clean and tools organized. <br /> <br />  I am a license architect with many years of construction experience. I happened to have a chance working with Mr. Putman in my project and also visit his other job site. He is an unique contractor. I have never seen other contractors as organized as he is. He works hard in the job site with his team to make sure job is done according to the drawing and on schedule. It's not often to come across a capable contractor who is also straight forward and honest. He is a reliable contractor who I have confidence in him to build a quality building for his clients."

We manufacture Advanced Energy Panels (AEPs). AEPs are a retrofit for historic windows or any window people can't afford or don’t wish to replace. AEPs are interior window insulating panels and can be installed in any building –office, home or industrial. AEPs have a higher insulation and air sealing rating and provide greater comfort than most replacement windows, yet they are a fraction of the cost. AEPs are custom made to fit over existing openings, protecting, preserving and improving your existing windows.

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Kailua Kona, HI

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
