"Radon Gone provided exceptional service from start to finish. They were extremely accommodating, even allowing me to adjust my appointment at the last minute. Ken and his team explained the entire process thoroughly, honored the exact price quoted with no hidden fees, and demonstrated the highest level of professionalism throughout. They worked neatly, kept everything clean, and were genuinely kind and courteous the entire time. Three days later, they returned to collect the commercial radon tester and confirmed that my radon levels were now well below the recommended threshold. After contacting several competitors, it was clear that Radon Gone stood out for their honesty, professionalism, and customer care. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking radon mitigation services."

"Antone was very responsive to all my questions as I had a lot to learn. Other neighbors had used this same company and were pleased with their results. Two guys were in the house for 5 hours. Answered all my questions, were polite, professional, knowledgeable. Prior tests I had done with different detectors showed 5.0-8.0 readings in basement near sump pump. Bought a new detector at time of installation. Current reading (2 weeks of data) shows 0.3 pic/liter. Pretty amazing difference, and peace of mind."

"We were very pleased with our experience! Bill thoroughly explained the process and patiently worked with us on finding the perfect  location for the pump. We were concerned about needing several suction points because our house is 96 years old and does not have drain tile. Bill kept our cost as low as possible by first installing just one suction point and then measuring the radon levels. The test results were great and additional suction points were not needed. Bill was very friendly, punctual and always available by phone. I highly recommend his services. <br />"

"As a home inspector I readily see radon mitigation systems either already installed or needing to be installed based on radon results from the testing I perform. I have performed post mitigation testing after safe haven has installed mitigation systems and the quality of work as well as no issues of radon being present have I found, would definitely recommend and I would personally hire this company if I needed to install a radon mitigation system in my home."

"<p>it was superb! they easiest, hassle free Radon test in town, with extremely proficient people -- very knowledgeable and very people-friendly! they took their time to explain things on the phone to me before I committed. the test came back within 10 days or so -- via email. which is very convenient. it was very clear as it is, but I like talking through it and get advice. they were instantly available to discuss. they gave me future tips to keep on top of all things Radon related. </p> <p>I have to say that all this comes to be after 3 months of many back and forths with 3 other companies -- none of the other companies could be bothered to schedule a time, and those who did, never showed up.. many times over. I don't know why I was so patient with them and I wish had discovered Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories much sooner.</p> <p>Really highly recommend them!</p> <br />"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Kenosha, WI

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
