"The work was done on time in a timely manner. I thought the workers were extremely polite and articulate. They repaired the rotted areas with Azec or similar material so that rot will not be a problem again. They even painted the repaired areas. I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. I would not hesitate to call them again for any work that I would need in the future. I recommend them very highly."

"The work and the price were excellent.  Had some communication problems with regards to the days the work would be performed.  It was resolved quickly and apologies were made for the confusion.  In all, an 8 ft section of drywall was removed and replaced.  The insulation above the removed drywall was replaced, and the drywall was mudded and the ceiling textured to match the rest of the ceiling, and the walls and ceiling were painted in all areas where the drywall was replaced. <br />"

"<p>The firm's president, Randy Alverson, arrived promptly, assessed our damp basement situation, and explained in great detail the various steps of the waterproofing process.  He answered all of my questions and was so professional and reassuring that I broke my usual rule of getting at least 3 proposals for any home project, and decided to hire Chamberlin-Washington immediately.  Of course, I had done my homework and read the firm's excellent reviews on numerous websites including Angle's List, which added to my confidence in my choice.  </p> <p>The Chamberlin-Washington crew was terrific and worked so hard under very chilly and damp conditions. They first removed all of the plants/shrubs from our front borders, carefully wrapping the roots in order to preserve them.   An 8 + -foot trench then had to be dug along the front of our house, to the bottom of the foundation, in order to begin the waterproofing process.  They worked very carefully, addressing one half of the foundation at a time (including under our front porch, which was undisturbed). The crew realized that our home's exterior foundation was very rough and uneven, which meant that it wouldn't be a receptive surface for the waterproofing membrane.  Mr. Alverson came back to our house to explain the additional steps that were needed to smooth the foundation out before the waterproof membrane could be applied: grind down the rough foundation, install stainless steel wall ties, install wood forms and pour a 4" thick concrete layer to even up and consolidate the foundation.  He made sure that we understood what was going to happen, and explained that though this was an unusual step to have to take, they had done it before for with some older homes such as ours (built circa 1925).  This extra step of preparation added an additional 50% to the original fee, but it had to be done. Once the waterproofing layer was finally in place, they tested it by spraying water onto the foundation for an hour, with one person carefully monitoring the process inside our basement to make sure that no water was leaking through.</p> <p>Ultimately, Chamberlin-Washington was able to thoroughly waterproof the front foundation of our home, and we have had no further water problems whatsoever.  We were extremely impressed with Mr. Alverson and his crew -- very professional, punctual and thorough.  I highly recommend this firm to anyone whose home needs similar waterproofing work.  I should also add that Chamberlin-Washington honored the 10% discount for Angie's List members -- a nice touch.</p> <br />"

"Went out to look at my issue the same day I called and assured me that the concern was, at best, cosmetic and not structural. Appreciate the responsiveness and the fact that they did not try to sell us something that was not needed. Foundation contractors are the professionals and we as homeowners are relying on them for an honest inspection and analysis, as opposed to someone trying to take advantage for a quick sale. Was very pleased and would not hesitate to call again."

"Steve designed the closet of my dreams! (and the garage for my husband!) The design process took time and Steve was patient with me as I changed the layout multiple times. The process was made even simpler as you log on to a website and watch Steve make any changes you request and see how it will look. As a visual person, that helped me see my closet layout. Steve takes inventory of all your clothes, shoes, and accessories so everything went into my master closet and finally removed from the other closets in the house. I continue to use Steve and his amazing crew in my new house in Virginia Beach. Amazing talent!"

"Matt was prompt with his response to our request for an estimate. He worked within the rates provided by the penny pinching insurance company. He stayed in contact with us throughout the two month long project. He took a bare stud and concrete gutted basement and turned it back into a great living space. He was flexible as our plans changed. The guy is a true jack of all trades. The project took longer than we wanted, but not all of the delay was the contractor's fault. He was also amenable to our expectations that minor defects be fixed. <br /> We intend to employ him again to work around our home. <br />"

"They are wonderful painters, and Julie is learning how to to do this, but Mickey does so much. Sandy did a raw job for us. We don't have a porch or overhang for the front door, and when the wind and water came down, it came out more at an angle towards the house, and it got into the large window that we have over the door. The water got into the caulking and sat there, so we had a mildew smell. We called a company and said we had a smell and we didn't know where it was. The company said I should take pictures and send them to them. Mickey was here doing the painting, and I told him about the mildew and he took pictures, and I got reimbursed. Mickey did an excellent job of cutting away, and there was one place that was covered in Mildew and he replaced that. He is a Jack of all trades. He was extremely prompt. They were walking in the door when they said they would be here."
