"What a great family owned business to work with! I interviewed several fencing companies to make an informed decision...let's face it, replacing a fence is an investment. I chose Banks Exteriors Plus for several reasons (professional estimate, not rushing me into a quick decision, cost effectiveness, and the time element to begin the project), and I'm so glad I did. Their work was excellent and often over-and-above what I had expected (I had plenty of growth (shrubs, tree limbs, ect. to remove), and it was done perfectly. Clean-up occurred at the end of each day, which I really appreciated. The staff was personable and took the time to ask me to come check something to make sure it was exactly what I had wanted. The time that was predicted was on point and no hidden costs surprised me at the end (I still can't over the cutting of all of the growth!). Our shutters were ready before we were as we were in the process of painting and remodeling. They patiently waited until we were ready for installation. Installation took about an hour and they look beautiful! Ended up ordering more for other rooms and I can’t wait for them to be ready! Highly recommend JTC."

"When I decided to move ahead on a much needed roof removal and replacement, it was very hard to get anyone to respond. However, Michael was very quick to answer my call and get a quote. Eventually I was able to get quotes from 3 different contractors and they were all within $200 for each other, which I find amazing given it was a sizeable job. In the end I did not select American, only because they did not carry workers comp at the time. I understand they have since picked up workers comp. I do most home projects on my own but can't do it all on my own. I will certainly contact Michael for anything in the future I decide to hire out."

"We initially called Mr Hargrove in August for an estimate on painting of the exterior trim, gutters, and around windows and doors, etc. on our two story brick house.  We were very impressed with his punctual call return and his punctual arrival for an estimate.  We needed the house pressure washed and scraped all around as the house had been neglected by the previous owners and needed serious work.  We liked his plan and his estimate and we decided on the spot to hire him and his company as there were many other things that were also going to be needed and we thought "this was our guy for anything that we need"  His crew showed up on the date and time specified and went to work immediately washing and scraping the exterior of the house.  They also had to remove all the storm windows for proper scraping and painting.  It was pretty hot, but his guys showed up every day and did a fantastic job.  We were and still are VERY impressed with the job they did and would hire them again in a minute!  During one particular nasty rain storm we noticed a serious leak in a couple of rooms and told James about it and he went right up on the roof and found where it had leaked and within the next few days, he had put on a new roof on that part of the house and it has not leaked since!  And the new shutters they installed look great!!  We have also had two of our neighbors stop by commenting on how good our house looks and wanted to know who did it and we happily gave them his number!  We are new to this area and we feel very fortunate to have found James Hargrove and his home improvement company and definitely plan on using them again!!

"Excellent quality work. Workers skilled in proper flashings, wraps, and materials for protecting buildings in the brutal Outer Banks weather environment. They take great care to get everything right while taking care to avoid damaging adjacent areas not involved in repair. They fixed rot around 7 large east facing windows; removing and reinstalling them, installing new and proper wrapping around them and flashing over top of the upper ones. Finally new trim around them replacing rotted trim and new Hardee siding and painting all to match. Excellent job. I'd recommend them highly. They prefer to work by the hour rather than fixed price and that makes great sense when the extent of damage to structures is unknown until outer layers are removed. They work very efficiently with good work crew and proper management that is attentive to working fast and thoroughly. The work site is neat and doesn't detract from adjacent beach properties. All in All I give them an A+! We'll be using them again."
