"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"Anita was great!! We needed 4 bath room exhaust fans replaced and a nest thermostat change. 3 of the exhausts required additional drywall repair. She professionally completed the tasks. Also, showed her some other items that needed attn (jammed door and garage sensor). She gladly handle those repairs. I now have a reliable handywoman I can count on."

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"Showed up and was very professional. Told us our fridge needed a back ordered part. We paid half up front (for service call, part cost, and labor for install) and we were told the part should be in within a few weeks. Heard nothing from them ever since. It?s been four months. We?ve called multiple times and each time we were told ?we?ll look into it? or ?it?s still on back order?. They just took our money. "

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"PROS: professional, knowledgeable, handled problem with warrantee company, willing to make a second trip out when first didn't fix problem CON: No one ever answered phone. Had to interact with him only via text. He fixed my Samsung refrigerator's leak. Water into the crispers. It took two times, but my interaction with other owners of this brand was that this repair was difficult and often impossible to fix. I retained this company through my home warrantee company. They didn't recognize that I was within the warrantee period on this repair because they thought he had come out earlier due to the fact that the first shot at an appointment was a text. However, Appliance Doctors negotiated with them when I could not and got them to send him back out without charge. Highly desirable. I waited a month before writing this review to make sure the second repair worked and it did!! my only complaint was being forced to do everything by text. I didn't like that and it was a problem with the warrantee company because they thought the first text was the actual date of the appointment. If texting is your bag, however, this is your company."

"I would NOT hire this company again. I paid for a tech to diagnose an issue with my dishwasher. The tech watched my dishwasher for a few minutes and then offered a few guesses as to what might be wrong. He didn't open up the dishwasher to perform any diagnostic work whatsoever. I asked the company for at least a partial refund. They refused."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Killeen, TX

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
