"I have seen sloppy refacing work and I wasn't sure I wanted to risk it but after seeing the quality of the samples and talking with the
owners I changed my mind and wasn't disappointed. NewLook really did give our kitchen a great New Look.  From the
knowledgeable owners to the courteous, experienced installers they really did a wonderful job turning drab to sparkling. It was a great experience and would use them again!

"The job went great. The quality is excellent and Joe and Mike really made an effort to meet and exceed our expectations. They worked with us patiently while we were deciding what we wanted to do. They kept the job site clean and made sure to protect everything while they painted. They also painted the inside of our cabinets, which doesn't usually occur with refacing. They addressed any quality issues quickly. We are already looking at another job for them."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"Every phase of the project was meticulous, from the electrical configuration, plumbing, recessed lighting, slow-close drawers/cabinets, mirror placement, French doors opening into the Master bedroom, etc. The Master bathroom was perfect. I strongly recommend Bill Johnson Remodeling for any and all renovation needs. His work is second to none. I highly recommend Bill Johnson Remodeling for any size project or renovation. You will especially appreciate his practical advice and superb attention to detail."

"Awesome job! One door had a flaw in it which was not noticed until installation. They acknowledged it and replaced it, but at least I had a door in the interim. Would definitely rehire!!"

"The work was done within 4 hours and I believe it went well. I hadn't supplied enough paint but ran to the store (took 20 minutes) and was back before the baseboards were completed so there was no delay. These are two difficult rooms to paint, with racks, cabinets, doors and windows, not to mention moving the washer and dryer. The guys did a great job and were very professional. I would definitely call them again."

"Absolutely better than expected. I’m use to workers showing up whenever and not completing job in a decent time. David from Cedarwood Forest came in and went right to work and finished the project that would normally have taken two weeks and did it in 5 days!! Totally impressed!"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Kingston, GA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
