"I requested an inspection of our attic to assess what needed to be done to improve its condition. I thought it may need an upgrade. Other venders earlier had told me that they would recommend new and/or added insulation, air sealing, mold treatment, etc. to the tune of multiple thousands of dollars. Brennen from Attic Doctor was the one who did our inspection. He explained why our attic really did not need much work to make it good. Contrary to others, he said we didn't need to upgrade our insulation, but just rearrange the already-adequate batting to free up the soffit vents and cover gaps, along with doing my own air leaks sealing or hiring a handyman at a much lower cost. He said we had no mold, as was asserted by another vendor. Washington State does not oversee the insulation vendors well so many can throw out their shingle with minimum expertise (effective lobbyists in Olympia?). He had the proper equipment to crawl under the house and determine what I needed to fix broken heat pipe, replace vapor barrier and replace insulation from a plumbing leak.
