"Great experience with a very professional crew. The work of fixing my front sidewalk and driveway was completed quickly, on time, and looks great now! Thanks to Jackie and Ryan, who did the repair work. They were friendly, efficient, and quickly completed all the work needing to be done. They answered all my questions. I would go to Baird Foundation Repair without hesitation for any future foundation or concrete work, if the need develops. I'll be recommending Baird to all of my neighbors and friends. Oh, and the cost of the work being done actually came in a little under what I was expecting, which was a very nice surprise!"

"Prior to any work being done, Mr. Garza posted the permit on the fence for anyone to see. We had our existing driveway and sidewalk removed and disposed. The entire front and both sides of the house were replaced with swept concrete (this is where the pebble is exposed and concrete is tinted brown). Mr. Garza had city inspection and approval performed at appropriate time. In addition, Mr. Garza put in pfc for cables and this has already proven very handy. He also put white marble stone in remaining border flower bed and in area around cable pedestal. He moved the existing mailbox so that mail delivery would not be interrupted until we had brick mailbox built. Work was performed during recent rains, so he came by every day and kept us up to date on what could or could not be done that day. He and his crew made every accomodaiton to us so that we would have access to come and go during construction. Mr. Garza and his crew were very professional. It was apparent that Mr. Garza is an expert and we are very pleased with the result. Friends planning concrete work have already asked for his contact info based on the work he did for us. The amount of square feet when completed was less that the estimate, so Mr. Garz adjusted the final bill. His original estimate had been considerable less than the highest bid we received. <br />"

"It could not have gone BETTER!!!!! This is one of the best company's I have worked with in a long time.  You need to be patience, because they are very busy, but they came the date they were booked for. The workmanship is top quality and looks better than I had expected.  The flooring is very easy to clean with a garden hose.  Mark Sullivan and his staff were a pleasure to do business with. Top notch all the way."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Kingsville, TX

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
