"Jess helped us out with the huge job of replacing the entire sewer main pipe from under our house to the sidewalk given that our old cast iron pipes were corroded and kept getting blocked by roots. This was a 3 day job involving a multiple person team. We went with Jess given that his estimate seemed fair and beat out other competitors. The work ended up being more labor intensive than anticipated, as digging to the city sewer line, which should have taken hours, ended up taking a day and a half due to unseen gnarled roots and cement in the soil. Despite this, Jess and his team worked diligently, showed up when they said they would, and finished on time. They were courteous, professional, and very hard working. Heroically, Robert made it there in about 30 mins and discovered the issue was a clogged pipe, and used all his tools in his belt to help me clear the clogged drain issue. "Leo and Tony and Able are wonderful and amazing. They installed new shut off valves throughout the house and the main. New P-traps throughout, power washed all my decks and fixed two leaks on the second floor and repaired the ceiling. The most beautiful work was installing a new bathtub and tile surround. Able is an artist! Leo is so fair and honest and his team just works hard every minute they were at my house. Came when they said they would. Gave me updates. Did additional work that I asked them for. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. "

"Short version: <br /> They got the job done, but it took two visits and cost about 2-3 times more than it should have because they initially arrived with the wrong equipment and then recommended an unnecessary, expensive video scan.  The extra cost was due to their error and they should have covered at least some of it (if not all) but they refused. <br /> <br /> Details: <br /> <br /> Our sewer line backed up between our house and the street, and so I called In and Out to clear it.  They arrived with nothing but a hand snake because supposedly other equipment was in the shop.  The plumber was able to (temporarily) clear the obstruction with the hand snake.  Charge: $250, which also included cleaning the trap in one of our interior sinks.  So far so good (although if I'd known they'd come with just a hand snake, I would have done it myself...) <br /> Two weeks later, the line backs up again, because the hand snake only punched a small hole in the obstruction rather clear it completely.  I called In and Out to come back with the correct equipment.   <br /> <br /> This time they arrived with the proper equipment, including the full sized snake and water jet to clear the roots.  Given the previous failure to remove the blockage, they recommended sending the video camera down the pipes to diagnose the problem.  Problem = roots from the trees near the sewer line (surprise!).  They used the snake + water jet to remove the roots and clear the obstruction.  Now everything works.  Bill = another $775.   <br /> <br />  Why do they get a C grade? <br /> Issue 1: they refused to refund any of the money from their first, failed intervention.  If they'd just arrived with the right equipment, we would have removed the roots on day one, sparing us another sewer back up and another expensive visit.  They brought the wrong equipment and didn't solve the problem -- there should be at least a partial refund.  Even an apology would have been nice.  But I didn't get either.   instead, we come to Issue 2 <br /> <br />  Issue 2:  when they came back, they recommended an unnecessary (and very expensive) video scan of our system which just turned up the obvious problem of roots from the nearby tree. <br /> Total cost was over $1000, for a job where most plumbers would have just gone in with the big snake + jet on day one and knocked out the roots for $250-400.   In and Out ultimately fixed the problem, but we had to endure 2 days of sewer back up and paid 2-3x what we should have. <br /> <br /> On the plus side, they were always very prompt, professional, and friendly in person (aside from issues noted above)"

"Chandlers did a great job. They quoted the repair and got to work. We also added the replacement of the sewer line as the main water line was being replaced. Chandlers added two sewer cleanouts in the front for future access to the sewer and provide a convenient place to empty my RV black tank. I was very pleased with the rapid repair and accommodating the additional work. They made what could have been an ordeal but got it done in 4 days total. I would definitely recommend Chandlers again if the need arises for any other plumbing concerns"

"Plumber misdiagnosed as toilet needing a "minor rebuild." He did that work, did not sufficiently test his fix, so the bathroom and family room flooded again because the actual problem was a clogged sewer line. He took several hours to unclog the sewer line, which maybe could have been done in 30 minutes from a much closer cleanout, if he had used a camera to locate the clog. He did finally break through the clog which restored temporary use of our plumbing to us. He wanted $300 to come back with a camera after breaking through the clog. Another company (Advanced Trenchless), another day, came out for free with a camera, located the problem, did not try to sell me an expensive whole new sewer line, scheduled and fixed the problem in a few hours by repairing a 3 foot section of the sewer pipe for a very reasonable price. Despite these problems with Albert Nahman Plumbing, we decided to pay them a monthly fee for future discounted (15% discount) work we wanted done (some new faucets installed) and for having them prioritize our future calls because we would then be a regular customer. When we had them and 2 other reputable companies come and give us bids for the faucet installations, after our 15% customer discount, Albert Nahman Plumbing was still 20% higher than the others. I had asked their customer service to send a different plumber from the one who had misdiagnosed the sewer clog problem. Instead, they sent the same plumber, who was not, without my encouragement, going to bid new angle stops and supply lines to replace our 32 year old, original, cheap plastic twist stops installed by the original builder. I wrote an email to Albert Nahman himself, which he encourages on his website, detailing these problems. He said he would look into it but he never got back to me."
