"High Grade did an absolute over the top job on refacing our kitchen cabinets. Our technician was Jimmy. He was on time everyday when he was in our home. He was very trustworthy while in our home. We left him many times for a number of hours and felt safe with him. He delivered the best work I have ever seen when it comes to refacing/restoration. We couldn't have been any happier going with High Grade Paint Coatings. A true professional!"

"We hired McCormick Home Builders to remodel our living room, and we are beyond pleased with the result. The team was professional, worked efficiently, and Aris design ideas made a huge difference. The room feels so much brighter and more spacious. This was the best decision we made for our home, and we were already planning our next remodel with them."

"J.R. and his crew were professional, friendly, and courteous. They were respectful of everyone in the home and our pets. J.R. informed me each day of the next day s schedule. It was a big job, yet they remained on schedule and finished quickly. I kid you not, EVERYONE comments on how beautiful my cabinets look."

"This was our second refacing project with Reborn. There probably won’t be a third, nor will we continue to refer friends and family members to Reborn. Our first project, a kitchen cabinet refacing several years ago (while Reborn was still a family-owned business), went well. We were in regular contact with the design and project managers, who kept us informed and, more importantly, promptly responded to our questions and concerns as they were brought to their attention. While the actual refacing work on the latest project went well (with one significant exception that I will describe below), I had to constantly follow-up with the design team to get my questions answered, promises were not kept, and my phone calls/text messages were ignored. The project dragged on far too long before it was finally started. Once begun, the pre-install work (electrical, drywall), and the refacing work itself was done skillfully and efficiently, and with respect for us and our home (they showed up on time, performed the work, and did a good job of cleaning up after themselves each day). However, the job could not be finished as originally scheduled due to a mistake when the cabinet doors were milled: two of the four doors were made with the hinges on the wrong side, which meant that they had to be remade to correct the mistake, delaying completion by another week. After the first project, I received both a call from Reborn and a survey asking for my input regarding the work they did. It is now two weeks after the latest project was completed and no one has contacted me. I guess I expect that, after spending several thousand dollars on this project, Reborn would follow up with me to confirm my satisfaction with their latest work. I have a philosophy when it comes to anyone I do business with: “When I am happy with the work, I tell my friends. When I am unhappy with the work, I tell my friends.” My son and daughter are both considering cabinet refacing for the bathrooms and kitchens at their homes. I won’t be recommending Reborn."

"I am extremely happy with the results. Cabinets were finished within the first week and they are absolutely beautiful. The other work took a little longer than expected but that might have been due to a lack of clear communication about the schedule. The workmanship is excellent"

"My Husband and I had our kitchen remodeled by Capital Counters and Cabinets. This was our first major remodel so we were nervous and didn't know what to expect. We got bids from 4 contractors and felt these guys were the most knowledgeable and professional. Juan, Gary and Adam answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable. The remodel took 6 weeks and even though the inconvenience of not having a kitchen was annoying at times, the outcome was definitely worth it all. Juan, Gary, Adam and all of Capital Counters' employees are true professionals and I am glad we decided to select them to remodel our kitchen. I would definitely recommend them for any project, small or large."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in La Quinta, CA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
