"Very professionals, excellent communication, on-time and job well done. Crew on site was professional, courteous, and skilled. We got different quotes and they were one of the best.
First, we contacted another company and to be honest, I think they have so much work that the quote was three times the quote received form Natural Stone Design. Second quote was kind of similar to Natural Stone Design, but we would have to buy the slabs, and then the company charge for sqft of installation. So, if you have to buy three slabs (approx. 40 sqft each) at a price of $25/sqft, and you will use approx.85 sqft of the material, that's equal you need 70% of the material, and you are wasting $875 just in materials you will throw away.

This company gives you the price per square feet of the counter tops (materials and labor included), so you don't have to buy materials you will waste anyways.
Natural Stone Design also offered the removal and disposition of the counter top material, but I did the removal myself since I know someone that can dispose off the material with easy. The quote for the removal was fair-good. If you don't have the space for storage for the existing material and the way to delivered to a disposal center, I recommend you choose the removal and disposition.
The final product is outstanding (see the pictures). Just one seam and almost unnoticeable in the whole kitchen counter tops. At the end, they cleaned-up everything and wrapped the quartz with plastic to protect the surfaces from other remaining work around the kitchen (back splash and paint).
We are very happy with our contractor Natural Stone Design and will use them again for future projects in the house.

"From the initial contact; the response was quick, timely and the quote was very reasonable. The day of installation, we were instructed to hang plastic to prevent dust from the quartz cut . The crew were professional , very respectful and knowledgeable. The craftsmanship and skill set was very impressive. I would highly recommend them to my friends. If I ever need future stone / tile work I will definitely call upon them again. Excellent work ! They made my dream and vision for my kitchen come true ! Thank you!"

Small jobs welcome

"Shopped around for a countertop for my new outdoor kitchen. I decided to get three quotes for the granite slab. One company never got back to me with a quote. The second company came back with a reasonable price and then Greg from Premier Stone Creations gave me his quote. Very good price, lower than the other company for the same granite. The only reason for the '4' on customer service is, I could not communicate with the Spanish speaking only installers. That will not prevent me from hiring them again."

"It went very well. They were very helpful in going to the stone yard with me twice to look at and select the granite we wanted and the exact slabs we wanted. They had the slabs fabricated and installed within a week. This is very quick turnaround. They did an excellent job of installing the countertops for a kitchen, including an island, two bathroom vanities, a shower seat and shower wall tops. Everyone we met at this family owned and operated company was very friendly and helpful. The countertops and shower are beautiful. We will use Alamo Stone Art again."

"

We had 3 bids all through Angie's List, one of the companies Granite Outlet II that  we had used before. The other two bids were from Solid Stone Fab. and KAT Fab

Most of the bids were similar, except all of the companies provided different prices for removal, sink cutout, plumbing for rehook-up of sink, and rehooking up stove top.

Granite Outlet II had a plumber in-house. Solid Stone had a recommendation for a plumber and KAT didn't provide a recommendation.

We kept our backslash and KAT was the only company that had an issue with cutting it down if needed. And it was cut to allow for the quartz.

We chose Solid Stone Fabricators because we trusted Claudia to do a good job for us. She was very attuned to our needs and anytime we asked her a question if she didn't already know it she got right back with us. She took good notes and made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. She was very professional and a pleasure to work with. We went to see the where the countertops were fabricated at Solid Stone and we also went to Cambria Quartz in Carrollton and looked at the Quartz we wanted and received large samples there.

They came out and measured and showed up on time, then we scheduled for the install.

The installers showed up at their scheduled time and finished in less then 5 hours. The next morning the plumber came and hooked the sink and stove back up.

Claudia came out a few days later and bought us our extra quartz. its VERY heavy but we wanted to keep it and they also made us a cutting board.

I LOVE MY COUNTERTOPS AND NEW GRANITE SINK!

"The job was performed very well and I am satisfied with the outcome. My countertops are at least 20 years old so I was not surprised that Cross Cleaning Co recommended additional work (diamond polishing) that will be required to fully address the small pits. I did not inquire about the cost of the diamond polishing but I will likely be calling back to do so."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in La Vernia, TX

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
