"Crew arrived on time, were very efficient, did a great job (no asphalt "oopsies"), left our project clean, and so far (2 months) the slurry is holding up better than expected compared to previous slurry jobs we've had completed. Project was private drive for 4 homes, about 4,000 sf. Crew cleaned driveway w/blower, sealed cracks, laid down quality slurry mix, and shaved down a couple asphalt bumps (due to buried pipes) to level out the FS. "Overall job was performed satisfactorily although I thought communication could have been better. The asphalt portion of the job was scheduled to be completed in one day, however, by mid-afternoon the workers had left and the job was not finished. I had to be proactive and contact the company to find out if installation was still going to take place that day or if it would move to the next day. I was told it would move to the next day which was ok. I asked if they could place a couple of orange safety cones next to the demolition area overnight since it was in an area where there was frequent foot traffic; this was agreed. When I returned to the job site late that night no cones were present. <br /> The overall quality of the asphalt work was satisfactory, the concrete work was excellent. <br /> I know this was a small job and think perhaps communication might be better with larger jobs / clients."

"I highly recommend working with Steve. We did a private road new asphalt paving project, on about 1/6th of a mile, uphill, curving dirt road. In a few words: reliable, responsive, customer service oriented, great value, professional, experienced, family business, long standing loyal employees. He saved me nearly 50% on cost compared with other bids because he capitalized on good deals and timing with other jobs and passed material savings to me rather than pocketing it. He is an honest to goodness hard worker and values a strong business relationship. He wants the work. He is always on time. Always replies to messages right away. His staff work very hard and are highly skilled. It is fun to watch! He is polite and easy to work with. His team is clean and professional. There were a few issues with the paving in a few spots, but Steve brought his entire team back and fixed it right up. He never makes excuses and gets the job done. They are very well equipped and knowledgeable. Steve took care of everything. Called the city for permission, prepped the road, worked with our other contractors to handle scheduling, even spoke with neighbors to ensure everyone is okay with a couple days of minor disruption. "First and foremost, Pete and his crew are all good guys, courteous, pleasant to talk with, and very hard working. No doubt about it, they know their stuff! Their concrete work is second to none. The finished product is some of the best I've seen. There were two minor issues. One, they damaged a Honeysuckle that was goring over the water spigot trying to access the water spigot. Partly my fault, Knowing how much water it takes for concrete finishing work, I should have pointed it out on the first day. I had to hack down almost all of bush/vines to free the wire trestle to bend the trestle back into shape. Also while they were rooting around for the hose bib they knocked off of the control box for my auto-watering system. A quick reconnect of the control box and all was well. The Honeysuckle has recovered nicely. So... Initially frustrating, in the long run, no harm. Two is he quoted me $3,800.00 for the job. On the day before the pour he told me he ordered a higher grade of concrete and asked for $200.00 more. Now, from my perspective (both professionally and personally) an additional 5.5% on a change order is not unexpected and reasonable so I said fine, no problem. That ate the tip I had planned on giving them anyway so it didn't cost me any more than I planned. And I got a concrete pad I can park an M1A2 Abrams on should the need arise. I highly recommend them. In fact, when I can afford it, I will call Pete back to do my driveway... This time I'll show him where the hose bib is from the front. :-)"
