"They sent out Victor. He is a nice guy. We have dealt with him a couple of times before. He brought the parts with him, and had the seal fixed in under an hour. The price was reasonable, and thanks to the good people at My Appliance Repair Houston the whole experience was very painless. This is a great company, and great service companies are hard to find. If you have a broken appliance in the Houston area you should give them a call."

"Marco showed up within his window (only 1 hour long!!) and immediately began to service my stove. After about 20 minutes he had a diagnosis. Unfortunately he did not have the part I needed on hand, but he did locate it and tried to come back later the same day. Schedule could not fit so he came back the next day and quickly finished the job. I am very thankful to have found Appliance Cowboys and will definitely use them again if needed.

"Found Nelson group after a very poor experience with Sears. Mike called me fairly quickly after leaving my info with Service Magic. I was able to get an appointment the next day to install a dishwasher. He called ahead when he was on his way (a novelty after dealing with Sears). Took the time to get a missing piece and installed everything. He will be the first person I call if I have an appliance problem."

"We called the company because our Haier fridge drawers got broken. The tech came out on time, had a quick look, figured the part that needs to be replaced and said the office would get in touch with me regarding the cost of repairs. A couple hours later I got a call from the office - turns out, the manufacturer doens't make this part any more. Since they were not able to repair the appliance, they didn't charge me the trip fee - now that tells you something about the work ethics of this company!
I'd definitely call these guys next time we need an appliance repairmen."

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

"service provider sent by American Home Shield was excellent. The only issue I have with home warranty services is that they do not send their repair companies out on the week-end, even in an emergency. The customer service personnel is less than enthusiastic or helpful."

I created this company because I’ve witnessed so many companies and large corporations for which I've worked that have forgotten where they started. Many have come to treat the employees and customers who helped them get to where they are now as inconsequential. My goal is to become the company that comes to mind, not just because we do high quality work, but because we understand the struggles of life and treat every person with kindness. Because without you, we wouldn't exist. We care about our community and are a sponsor for the Brazoria County Volunteer Fire Department, and we offer help when it’s needed. We will always be family owned and run, and we will always treat every job or task as if it was being done on our own property. We get calls not only because of the work we do and how well we do it, but because customers enjoy having us around, and look forward to a polite and respectful experience every time. I look forward to meeting you all. \n\n-Travis Smith \nCEO

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Lake Jackson, TX

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
