We are extremely pleased with the final results to take back our homes basement from poor workmanship done by the original builder and owner of our home back in 1979 We purchased the home in 2001 and unknown to us the foundation had been placed on top of clay based sub-soil which was an acceptable building practice back in 1979. Today's building codes prohibit this careless and costly practice of home site preparation for the homeowner. "The four guys who performed the work, were later than expected, but they called and informed me of the new arrival time, which was appreciated. They worked as quietly as possible when jackhammering out 57 year old concrete. The covered everything that I requested with plastic in an effort to control the dust. I was warned that dust would be an issue, which it was, but the preparation minimized it. They carefully worked around the plumbing lines which were in the way of the drain tile and even addressed the in-floor heating ducts we have. They placed the tile with care and packed with appropriate stone. The replacement concrete is not as even or smooth as the original, which could pose some issues later when we finish our basement. The job took less than one full day and they cleaned up well after themselves (other than all the dust). The work is only a week old, so not enough time has not elapsed to express an opinion of how well the system works to control our water issue.
