"We have hired Alex Freddi Construction for three other remodeling jobs in our house, and we have been so pleased by their past performance that we wanted to hire them again! The transformation has been amazing! Gary, the project manager, did a great job for us and really wanted us to be happy. He was friendly, but professional, and a great problem-solver. We have a guest bathroom we need to have remodeled next year, and we know who we are going to call on to do it!"

"I chose Kitchen Concepts because of the good reviews on Angie’s List and because Dave Warren was able to show through computer assisted drawings what the kitchen would look like under different scenarios given the existing dimensions of the kitchen. Dave provided the cabinets and countertops but the remodel work was performed by Ed and his crew, who Dave has associated with for years. The kitchen turned out well, with new flooring, appliances, cabinets with soft close hinges, and beautiful quartz countertops. It was a huge improvement for a kitchen that had not been remodeled in 20 years. Based on the good results on the kitchen, I contracted them to remodel the rest of the house, which meant remodeling three bathrooms, updating a living room, five bedrooms, a family room, entryway, stairway, and hall. It also involved a structural change in moving the entryway closet to an otherwise unused space under the stairwell, freeing up space to enlarge the master bathroom. There is new flooring in all areas of the house. The bathrooms and all parts of the house look beautiful. I especially like the new doors, door frames, and molding throughout the house. Working with Dave and Ed was great, and I would recommend them to anyone who needs remodeling work."

"Matt had done a great job on my kitchen remodel last year, so when I had an unexpected plumbing failure and major flooding on my lower level that included the master bedroom, office, and the only full bath I called Matt right away. He was at the door before the flood mitigation crew was done clearing out my belongings, and was able to fit the key components of this job into his schedule, working evenings and weekends to get my house livable as soon as possible. While the basement took nearly a week to dry with industrial fans, etc. Matt and I met to choose materials and make decisions on changes I wanted to make. The bottom 10" of all the drywall had been cut away, all hardwood flooring and the bathroom vinyl flooring torn up. I took this opportunity to make some changes such as moving the vanity further away from the toilet, changing from a long double-sink to a smaller single vanity, and closing in an extra door so I had more wall space. As with my kitchen remodel, Matt offered advice on materials, and finishes, but let me take the lead in how I wanted my project to look. He always finds the right balance between sharing his experience and advice without being bossy or taking over my decisions. He was great on working with the specific requirements of my insurance company, and kept me well within the budget of my insurance payout even with the changes and considerable upgrades (tile floor, tub surround, moving the plumbing, etc) The sealing and repair work on the foundation was outside of the scope of the insured damage but was discovered when the walls where cut out. Even with that extra work, my total cost was minimal because the covered repairs had stayed well under budget. In the bedrooms the extensive drywall repair -- replacing the bottom 10 inches that had been removed, the removal of the old wainscoting, and the filling in a door -- are all completely invisible. Matt's team who worked on roughing in, and on the plaster and some finishing work were reliable, courteous, and did all they could to minimize the disruption on this weeks-long project. Every single day Matt showed up -- sometimes doing work and sometimes just checking in on his team. But he was on site every day. I especially like that he treats his team respectfully and mentors them. I have more projects in mind for my house and will definitely call on Matt again. I've given his name to several friends. Note: The hardwood floors were replaced by a different contractor who had done the floors originally, but Matt did do the tile floor in the bathroom. <br />"

Small jobs welcome

"Thanks to George, my bathroom remodel came out great. From his initial design, to demo, to framing, tiling, drywall and paint, the process was managed flawlessly, and executed with precision and attention to detail. George himself did the carpentry and tile setting, while bringing in others to do the drywall, paint, plumbing and electrical. The end result was a beautiful new bathroom, and Iâ m sure I will be contracting him again to do more work on future projects."

"In Your Home have definitely become my go-to company for just about everything connected with home maintenance, repairs and remodeling. They have worked on various projects for us over the years, and we have always been very satisfied with their work. They are experts in accessibility design, and have just finished a major remodeling of our hall bathroom to improve accessibility. They have an excellent team: the design consultant, the site manager, the lead person for the project, all work together efficiently and quickly to make the process as smooth as possible. They maintain really good communications with clients, and are very responsive in answering questions and resolving minor issues that arise. The remodel is finished and the new bathroom is beautiful and very functional. IYH is already working on other projects for us - deck cleaning and refinishing, driveway cleaning and sealing, and other minor alterations, and everything gets done right the first time. They are very meticulous in maintaining good hygiene and safety measures to make work during the pandemic safe. A really wonderful company to work with, and I would highly recommend them. My warmest thanks to all involved."

"We moved into a new home and had literally 12 days to remodel what we needed prior to moving in.The house is a 1991 build with oak practically used everywhere, and we wanted to give it a current millennium face lift by painting it white. I found Lo's contracting on Angie's list and liked their positive reviews. Amadou came the next day from my first phone call, assessed the house condition in terms of how much woodwork was needed, and gave me an estimate that very night. He was very understanding of my situation and agreed to complete the work by July 10. In my situation nothing was in the house yet, so it was easier for him to complete the job without having to move furniture around. As soon as the crew came in they caulked the moldings in need of paint, removed doors, masked and taped the entire house (walls, ceilings, carpet, floors), carefully masked around only the wood to be painted, cleaned/prepped the surfaces, then applied one coat of primer. Afterward they spent a considerable amount of time repairing the wood surfaces as a white paint will most likely show any defect. This included sanding, caulking, and filling any holes or features that will leave shadows. This took about 80% of the project and I have to admit I was worried they were not going to finish on time as I haven't seen paint yet! When all the prep work was done, the crew applied three coats of semi-gloss white paint, and then removed all the sheeting they put up to protect the house. It was amazing to see how clean the house was left given how much dust came off from sanding and painting. Amadou met his deadline and was very professional throughout. At no extra charge, he even painted closet interiors, and treated my front door and frame for me so that it looks nice with the new paint.Amadou and his crew were also very understanding of other contractors coming to the house (appliance delivery, window repair). They quickly re-masked any area we had to tear down for that specific work. In short, I am very happy with the services I received and will definitely use Amadou again for such needs."

"They did a really great job on our master bathroom remodel. Art was incredibly helpful along the way. We had to pause our project in the middle a bit due to the local wildfires and smoke but throughout that Art kept in touch and provided updates."

FAQs for bathroom remodel projects in Lake Oswego, OR

You can buy a replacement vanity by selecting a pre-made unit with an integrated sink from a local home improvement supplier. Pre-made vanities are designed for easy installation and compatibility with your existing plumbing. If a ready-made option doesn't meet your needs, consider hiring a custom builder to create a vanity that fits your space and style.

You can purchase a bathroom vanity from major home improvement retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s or online stores like Wayfair, which offer a variety of pre-made vanities. Visiting local showrooms and bathroom supply stores can also provide professional advice and help you choose the right vanity for your space.

Installing your bathroom vanity flush against the wall enhances stability and prevents shifting. This placement also eliminates hard-to-clean gaps and keeps your vanity securely in place. Building codes often require a minimum clearance of four inches from bathtubs and at least 21 inches of free space in front of the sink for accessibility and safety.

You can upgrade a single vanity to a double vanity by installing additional cabinets, a second sink, and matching fixtures. This process requires additional plumbing adjustments, countertop modifications, and careful alignment to ensure both sinks function correctly. Upgrading to a double vanity enhances bathroom functionality and offers more space, which is especially beneficial for shared bathrooms.

The best vanity top material depends on your budget, style preferences, and maintenance willingness. Materials like quartz or solid surfaces are excellent choices for durability and low maintenance. If you're on a tighter budget, laminate is affordable but less durable. Consider how much traffic your bathroom gets and choose a material that balances cost, appearance, and upkeep.

Installing a bathroom vanity takes between three and six hours. Simple installations may be completed in under three hours, while more complex projects requiring adjustments or plumbing modifications can take up to six hours or more. The installation process includes assembling cabinets, placing the countertop, installing the sink if necessary, and connecting plumbing.
