"They built a beautiful patio at the bottom of a deck for one of our customers. A+ were great to work with and they even repaired the grass where their machine had made tracks. The customer was very happy and we will definitely use A+ again!"

"Easy to get an appointment and readily took care of installing 10 new smoke detectors. Wore a mask and was friendly and professional. Would hire again. Time of arrival delayed due to vehicle issues (which I know you can't plan for) so service was not at the time I had planned but I made it work. Promptly notified me of the delay and worked with my schedule for later that same day. I would use again."

"I have two pendant lights installed and a dimmer. The service was easy, professional, and timely. I will be using them again very soon. Also, I loved that they called me to let me know when the guys were being dispatched. The service men were very professional and I could pay online so no money was being transferred in person. It was a good experience from start to finish."

"The electricians checked out the space and explained what they would be doing and went to work.  I asked them to space the pot lights so when I was ready to put a ceiling fan in, it would be spaced just right.  The fishing of the wiring was pretty cool to watch as it is definitely an art form.  The pot lights look amazing and the track lighting in my hall and kitchen just brightens up the area so much better than the fixtures that were there.  After the work was done, they cleaned up an off they went.

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Lancaster, PA

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
